From the Virgin Mary to #TradWives, societyβs interpretations of the Bible have always distorted how women are seen. @bethallisonbarr.bsky.social and @chinemcdonald.bsky.social got together at Greenbelt to tell a more hopeful and surprising story.
Greenbelt is somewhere you can come and find your people. Like Florence has. Here sheβs talking about her first-ever Greenbelt, her new mates, and her favourite things. What were your faves last year?
The splendid Adjoa Andoh spent time with us in the fields last summer. Hereβs what Lady Danbury had to say about her Greenbelt experience.
When Bishop Gene Robinson came to our festival he made a lasting impression on Dave, from our OUT team. βHearing how the first openly gay bishop kept his cool and his faith in the midst of the storm of criticism and hostility from some parts of the church was eye-opening" #LGBTHistoryMonth

As the days start to lengthen, weβre here to inject some sunshine into this dampest of months with our second slice of names for this yearβs festival. What better time to remind ourselves of the glories of gathering together in fields during British Summer Time?

If the news has started to feel like a rolling storm cloud, youβre not imagining it. We canβt fix the whole world from a field in August. But we can build something beautiful in it. Last year, hundreds of volunteers basically loved Greenbelt into being. And itβs time to do it again buff.ly/KAttkHn
Please enjoy these photos of Greenbelters announcing that festivals are for absolutely everyone. Itβs why weβve got 3x price levels for adult tickets - so you pay what you can afford. Grab your ticket in February and use our payment plan to spread the cost over the next 7 months.
In this clip, James sets out how each of us brings our own judgements and interpretations to any text, and explains that it is the bible itself which challenges us to read the scriptures in a way that shows Godβs mercy (rather than demanding sacrifice).
Do you know what βclobber textsβ are? Catholic theologian James Alison came to Greenbelt in 2006 to talk about them - the bible stories that get used to bash LGBTQ+ people. He didnβt make it past the Hebrew Bible, so we had him back the following year to cover off the New Testament too. π
Our hope is that these twin seasons might strengthen our solidarity with one another β and with all who long and work for a more just and loving world.
#Lent #Ramadan #Greenbelt
As Lent begins for Christians and Ramadan begins for Muslims, these sacred seasons call us back to what matters: humility, mercy, and generosity.
Both invite reflection, repentance, and a renewed commitment to justice and compassion. They are personal, but they are also political.
Mmmmmm. Leave that (bizarre) thought with us.
When we set up the secret camera last summer, this is *exactly* the kind of conversation we hoped we might hear. Itβs our last one of the series and an absolute beaut to finish with. Huge thanks to everyone who sat in the chair and shared moments like these with us.
βFor me, it has to be the session with Rob & Willie, Chris & Hayley from 2024. Greenbelt certainly has been on a journey and this session spoke honestly about its history of LGBT inclusionβ. Becci from our OUT team picked this talk to celebrate #LGBTHistoryMonth. Listen to the full talk on our site.
Thanks @jennymitchellgo.bsky.social - sound advice!

Our friends at @amostrust.bsky.social host a 'Free Marwan Barghouti' webinar tomorrow, Weds 11th Feb 2026, 6pm (UK). Marwan's son Arab Barghouti will discuss why his father's release is not only long overdue but vital if Palestinian aspirations are to be realised.

This #LGBTHistoryMonth, our @outatgreenbelt.bsky.social volunteer team are digging through our archives to share LGBTQ+ voices from the festival that still hit home. Weβre kicking things off with Sarahβs recommendation. βIt's so powerful to hear her ideas about what queerness adds to Christianity.β
