is2g this happened completely by accident back while i was building out this scene because thats just how the origins of the sprites lined up when I pulled them into the scene and this was rj's response
the traditional methods we have to reach players are falling apart and i worry that a *lot* of people just don't hear about anything their preferred app's algo doesn't decide to show them. when even something like scott pilgrim EX gets talked about like this it feels grim for the rest of us
it does drive me a little crazy that an indie game from an established, well liked studio can get good press coverage and also literally get revealed at a big event like summer game fest and people will still be like "wow i didn't even know this existed. you guys didn't advertise this enough"

I sometimes worry that too many people think being a good critic means being a self-righteous dick about every little thing and I think far too many miss the point that you can't critique anything if you don't know how to love something.
in case you've never seen it, this is Roger Ebert on The Mummy
UNSIGHTED is one of those games I think is really slept on: an incredibly hard metroidvania with a really interesting (and painful) narrative countdown clock which makes what you do really feel like it matters
Why Am I Dead At Sea is an excellent mystery adventure from 2015 (>400 reviews) where you find yourself dead on a boat, and have to inhabit other people to investigate your death and unravel their secrets. Wonderfully weird, moody, and offbeat.
