Ooh thank you I’ll try that out tomorrow!
Ooh thank you I’ll try that out tomorrow!
I’ve been trying this thing where I read books instead of doomscroll and I’m thinking of restarting Breath of the Wild to get me off my goddamn phone more often but I did just put Bluesky on my home screen in the spot Twitter has been for well over a decade.
Or maybe Tears of the Kingdom?
I honestly don’t know if I’m capable of a casual relationship with a text based social media platform 😂
I feel like critical mass might be about to tip over to here and I’m so torn between diving in and feeling like I should take advantage of Elon Musk actually managing to do what I never could: breaking my extremely unhealthy Twitter dependency.
DID YOU KNOW a weasel got into the large hadron collider in April of 2016? I really try to avoid conspiracy theories but given that the Brexit vote, the Cubs winning, and Trump happened in short order afterwards I really kind of believe that weasel broke the timeline
Once you build up enough hearts and improve your armour and weapons enough you can just go with the “whack ‘em a whole lot until they die” and never actually have to master the parry or flurry rush!
(Source: I defeated the final boss having successfully parried and flurry rushed maybe twice.)
There are so many good enemies in this game that I’m not sure how on earth they also ended up with the effing horriblins
It is good! I vastly prefer this platform! But I’m not convinced it’s going to get enough traction, I feel like they missed their window.
It is very striking that while the people I follow on both platforms are pretty similar, the algorithm suggestions on Threads are an absolute nightmare of inanity. Meanwhile, the “what’s hot” over here, which I assume is similarly intended, is almost entirely exactly my vibe.
It’s honestly shocking how much of a dopamine hit it is to get all of the joy of riding a bike without any of the annoying parts. It’s SO FUN.
Can I tell you about my e-bike????
I just really hate almost everything about meta and hate giving them more of my attention capital!
It’s seamless. They’re still fucking it up twelve ways to Sunday but it’s by far the easiest one to find your friends on. I think it will function WILDLY differently from Twitter and this could still be the Extremely Online crowd, but I think they missed their window to get the casuals.
(Though some of the threads features are excellent—I like how seamless it is to follow/follow back people from just about anywhere and the graphics and visuals are excellent.)
I really feel like they blew it and missed their window because of this and it bums me out because I actually think it’s better than threads.
Really loving this thing where one asshole white dude billionaire ruined the place where the proles hung out and made our little jokes and now we have to decide which OTHER asshole white dude billionaire we can most stomach further profiting from our little jokes
I like making lists of things for current events too, I'll have to poke around with that. I have well-curated lists for things like US politics with a nice mix of info and good jokes.
Oh, I like the idea of having feeds you can follow in addition to people. Honestly, if this can be 80% how Twitter used to be with a few tweaks and improvements, I'm down. If we can get 3rd party apps back we're really cooking.
We had to go out of our way in 2005 to find a photographer who would shoot digital and give us the files for the photos!
A wedding photo of Sarah and Jamie looking up at the photographer, who is in a tree.
This is the full photo!
I mean it's a small corner of a very low-res copy of a photo from 2005, it is not what one would call a crisp and clear image 😂
I’ve had the same profile photo and no cover photo on Twitter since 2008 so it feels like the end of an era that I just uploaded new photos for both over here. My profile photo was from 2005!
(Sorry to burst the bubble of anyone who thought I was 24. I also don’t usually wear a wedding dress.)
