finding time for new tunes is hard! hope ya like it when ya get to it!
My favorite part about releasing music digitally is three weeks later when you get the email like “congratulations! your music has gone live on zipzorp! now is a great time to share with your fans that they can stream your music on zipzorp!”

Hey all. Fest was as exhausting and wonderful as you could imagine. The response to the new tunes, both in person and over the wretched internet, has been heartwarming and inspiring.

The response to the new songs has been exceptionally kind, especially when you consider we did the exact opposite of every best practice for releasing new music.
In a lot of ways, these tunes harken back to the early days—we even tracked some of it in Mike’s mom’s basement.

Two new Timeshares songs are live on Bandcamp and almost all of the streamers right now.
It’s an all-time bad rollout, but I don’t think TRL was in our future anyway.

stay locked to this account for new music from a guy who didn’t listen to Drive Like Jehu when he was 15 because he thought it would sound like Juliana Theory or whatever and now has lingering resentment about it.
The problem with calling just about everything that isn’t Lagwagon “emo” is that it kept people like me from listening to Drive Like Jehu until their 30’s. And you can’t exactly go around saying, “Damn, ya’ll ever heard this Yank Crime?” to people with mortgages.
This was the last thing I tweeted before I logged out of this account for half a year. Honestly, it would have made a fine closing chapter of our legacy.
Okay, I figured out how to log into this account again. I’ll have to be obnoxious with it VERY soon, because we finally fucking did something.

Our second record turned 10 yesterday. Mike posted a bunch of pictures from when we made/toured it over on IG, if that’s your thing.
I still don’t think we ever quite nailed it on one of these, but there are moments on this record that come pretty close for me.
A customer who seemed cool came into my job and was back out the door all within the duration of “Stacy’s Mom.”
As they were leaving, it took everything in me not to call out, “I’m listening to the whole album, I swear.”
They did! And Elvis Costello’s first seven or eight records were pretty much my personality (a bad personality!) in my twenties, so you can trust me!
We’ve played together for over fifteen years, since we were dumb children (now dumb men). Last night was our first gig in a year, and our first with Eric’s 9 mo. old daughter in attendance.
It feels nice. Not to announce-an-announcement, but a few more gigs coming soon, and they’re real hooters.
