Sustainability language is dominated by frameworks.

Most small companies don’t struggle with frameworks.

They struggle with structure.

Documentation can give the appearance of progress.
Systems create it.

Markets don’t suddenly become moral.
They introduce measurement.
Then comparison.
And behaviour adjusts.

Procurement is changing quietly.

Infrastructure rarely arrives with a big moment.
More often it’s a small procedural change.
A new column in a spreadsheet.
A slightly different scoring weight.

Nothing dramatic.

Which is exactly why most people miss it.

Youth unemployment is often the canary in the coal mine for the wider labour market.
When entry-level hiring slows, the long-term effects tend to linger well beyond the cycle.

That’s a beautiful way to describe it, an open-air studio. The town centre becomes a place again rather than just a route through it.

Most sustainability arguments are really disagreements about optimisation.
Looking at coffee as a system makes that unusually clear.

Keynes didn’t argue for endless growth; he assumed abundance would change what growth is for. We kept the growth and ignored the assumption.

SEEING IS BELIEVING

DHS claims the car being chased rammed the ICE vehicle. The video shows the opposite.

πŸ“Œ A father and son, a US citizen, are chased. The teen is beaten and seriously injured. The father is deported.

DHS lied. The video tells the truth. Excellent reporting by Antonia Hylton.

Real resilience means embedding climate sensitivity into urban design, labor standards, and core infrastructure β€” because heat governance is now city governance.

If you’re from an Indian city, what’s one local adaptation that’s actually helping β€” even in informal or low-resource areas?

Urban heat in Indian cities isn’t a weather anomaly β€” it’s a structural risk shaped by planning, informality, and inequality. Workers in the informal economy face daily exposure with limited safeguards, and Heat Action Plans, while important, don’t yet address the built environment that traps heat.

Trump’s back on Greenland, this time with tariffs aimed at allies who won’t sell. 10% now, 25% by summer. Denmark says β€œnot for sale,” protests erupt in Nuuk, and Congress isn’t backing him either. Global chess, or campaign chaos?

That place is …" BABUGERIOnce a year, in the heart of winter, all the Babugeri gather in one place to celebrate an ancient tradition. That place is the Kukeri Festival in the town of Simitli. Every second weekend of January, groups from all over southwestern Bulgaria arrive, filling the town with sound, movement, and color. Hundreds of masked figures line up, dancing impatiently as they wait for their moment to enter the arena of the local football stadium. The Babugeri are part of Bulgaria’s rich masked heritage. Their costumes are entirely handmade, created from the skins of a local breed of long-haired goats. Making a single costume is a labor of patience and devotion. A male goat needs four to five years to grow its hair to full length, and up to seven or eight goats are needed for just one outfit. Each skin carries heavy, dreadlock-like hair, which after tanning is untangled by hand, strand by strand, using a single needle. It is a year-round effort to keep the tradition alive. When a costume is finally finished, it can be worth a fortune. The longer the hair, the higher the value. The most impressive Babugeri costumes, with hair over a meter long, can cost between 20,000 and 30,000 euros.Traditionally, Babugeri groups roam towns and villages around the New Year, dancing to chase away evil spirits from the old year and to bring health, luck, and prosperity for the year to come.

Just learned about Babugeri β€” a centuries-old Bulgarian winter ritual. Can’t stop watching.

Minimalism like this isn’t about less furniture β€” it’s about fewer decisions competing for attention.

These rooms feel resolved because decisions were made early β€” and held.
