Sounds sort of like Beastie Ball
Character Redraw idea
I watched Creature Commandos
so Spider-Man exists in the DCU...?
Having watched all of these movies I can confidently say literally all of them were better than 'Weapons'
for the record the 9 other movies were Robert Eggers' 4 movies, Barbarian made by the same director and Companion which also came out this year and was produced by this movies director
I've considered subjecting myself to unspeakable horrors (6 other horror movies) because I feel like a fraud whenever I talk about this stuff without having excruciating context but I don't have the time
a more conservative audience will probably like this movie but it wasn't for me
go watch Sinners (2025) again
Honestly, very mid...
apparently Kusanagi is a bit more whimsical in other adaptations which might help me like the series a bit more. I get that the movie is going for a certain tone but I've never been a fan of Kuudere character
maybe I'll wait until the Science SARU series coming out soon
I wasn't a fan of Akira or Ghost in the Shell the first time I watched them. I thought they were both very pretty but I lacked the ability to understand their stories.
I've been on a bit of a transhumanism kick recently and I'm thinking it might be a good time to revisit them
I'm not sure if infidelity is something Yuasa is particularly interested in as a concept but I noticed its shown up in at least two of his series'.
'Kemonozume' (2006) also briefly featured it. I found it interesting considering its not the type of thing I've seen many anime seriously address
in continuing my Masaaki Yuasa journey I finished watching 'Kaiba' (2008) yesterday it was great honestly there aren't many anime quite like it (though I've seen a few try)
A perfect mix of heartache and hope
Gridman is so much better than Darling in the Franxx its not even funny. I say this as an avid Franxx defender please watch Gridman that series is so incredibly peak
this world is unjust
"I'm not going to be parasocial towards proxi"
and other lies I tell myself
If I had a nickel for every time I'd seen Boisyn's food explode I'd have 2 nickels which isnt a lot but its strange that it happened twice
the more I learn about this guy the more I believe him to actually be a stand user
Its probably a coincidence but I find it interesting that Schreck was the last name of the actor who played Count Orlock
Found an old filmmaker who's work sounded really interesting based on how it was described only to find out more than 80% of his films have been lost to time
to me what something represents and how effectively it communicates that it way more important to me than how good it looks
it may not be all that well animated but the gesture effectively represents a shift in how kiki's treated which I really appreciate
I think the perfect indicator of my personal taste when it comes to media is my preference in Ghibli food. Of all the absolutely beautiful food Ghibli has included in their movies the one that stick out to me is the cup of coffee given to Kiki in Kiki's delivery service
There is a chance all of this will change with release of season 2
I hope it does
my dissatisfaction with this series has been something that has been bothering me for a while putting it in words has somewhat let me deal with it
Its disappointing to see dungeon meshi fail to support a coherent satirical argument especially when it so effectively parodies the stereotypical damsel in distress story and in doing so conjures a fairly interesting discussion concerning the nature of love
Dungeon Meshi's storytelling resembles the framework of "Inclusive Fantasy" as opposed to genuinely diverse fantasy and as a result is subject to all the trappings of the genre therein
namely tokenism and an inability to meaningfully address the issue it introduces
While I understand that Dungeon Meshi's reluctance to include genuinely unpleasant elements is almost definitely an intentional choice to avoid upsetting its audience its outright refusal to do so leads to its story feeling vapid
