start looking at areas loosely before retirement, then make a decision (such as move to Devon, or by the sea, or rural, or whatever) and then downsize when you still have enough in the tank to do stuff and make friends. 2/

My wife and I have discussed this at length - now have two sets of parents that can't/won't move for various reasons. My ps-in-law keep the big house for 'visits', but at 47 with two sprogs in tow, I have zero thirst for sleeping in the dining room on an airbed over Christmas.

Met them at the height of their fame, when we booked them to play the uni summer ball. They put on a great show, and were surprisingly down to earth.

I remember their rider being something ridiculously spartan like a clean towel each, and 24 cans of beer. Stayed in the travelodge.

You can just Tipp-ex the first one, then run a magnet over the second...

Sloe gin just gets better, and better, and better the longer you leave it. Magical stuff, I have gallons in the shed. I'm determined for some of it to outlast me.

There's one true positive to AI (in the sense that you describe it), and that is that it's going to force those who want to experience true, human art and endeavour out of their holes and back into public spaces. Want to know if it's genuine? Well, you're going to have to experience it. Live.

Booked them to play our summer ball at uni when this came out. They were a fantastic bunch, worked at putting on a show, and were really down to earth.

As someone who grew up in Staffordshire, I cannot say that it came as a total surprise...

It's only just become clear to me as to how useful this can be.

It's funny, I've always had a love for 'defunct' tech - I still have minidiscs, CDs, tapes, and what-not. I listen to digital and streaming radio a lot, but in the kitchen I have a nice old Roberts receiver, and I own 3 modern, full waveband SW receivers, as well as a portable CB set.
