I guess, always helps to to understand how to exactly play a piece, especially if u want to include things like tapping, natural harmonics etc.

also for clarification, I've always used ultimate guitar and their hq tabs are always written like that

From my experience those notations are pretty standard for high quality tabs, especially if they got playback and multiple tracks. I've never really learned those aside from standard tabs but I figured them out with time. (never found any explanation for them too, which is weird)
