I love this genre of Pokรฉmon

I am shocked to learn this is actually underestimating costs, because it ignores the infrastructure costs.
This video is lowballing it.
I like this quote:
#TeaseYaGame with an updated build!
Still Astropods 2: Unnamed, but a finalized name is coming sooner than later...
This will become a co-op(able) platform-fighting adventure/life-sim game! No, this is not word salad.
I'll come up with a better tagline...
#GameMaker #indiegame #gamedev
Thanks! Soon, I'll be looking forward to make further tweaks to improve it some more.

Hmm! I actually never thought of that. That could be fun yes as long as it doesn't go too high. I'll give it a shot! Thanks for the suggestion.
New Hit VFX! I wanted to try some new stuff this time around; how is it?
...it may have a bit too much clutter, so I'll keep my eyes on this.

4 panel comic P1: a right hand draws a wavy stroke on a sketchbook page. A caption box up top reads "draw" P2: the word "CREATE" dominates a panel with a black background, forming in the negative space. Various small shapes surround it. P3: a lone simplified humanoid figure is on the bottom right of a another panel with a black background. A thought bubble forms above their head, the words "if not for others, then at least for yourself" within. P4: The Earth dominates the bottom of the panel, with a sliver of space above it. Clouds swirl and boil across the Earth, which is the only element on the entire page coloured a pink-red. A caption box above reads "now, more than ever"

2 tone sketch of Browt with bigger leaf eyebrows
Browt mildly compelled me to draw him. Cool design.

I wish Browt had bigger leaf eyebrows like he does in this sketch, but while drawing him, I think I could see why they opted out of it lol. I had a hard time not making him look like a grumpy old man, but still I hold on to that thought.

What I mean by "human way" is that they feel a bit too tailor crafted by our perception of cute to appeal to us in a way I didn't feel as hard with early gen starters.
Of course early gen starters are cute too, but in a way that feel a bit closer to wild dogs compared to human bred dogs.
I probably wont buy Gen 10 Pokemon, but starters ain't too bad design wise.
I really wish Browt had bigger leaves that extended past his body & acted as eyelids, but i'll wait til evos come out.
Still, I def prefer old gens design philosophy, these designs feel a bit too cute-sy in a human way
Astropods 2: Unnamed with a palette filter and scanlines. Scanlines are more experimental, while the palette filter is instrumental to the game, but both I think look quite good!
Palette filters remniscient of GameBoy palettes will be present in different areas!
I also tried out scanlines here, and may go forward with them!

Kirby (Super Star) in Various poses, made with the express purpose to put them into the game titled 100% Orange Juice. Note that at this moment, they aren't actually made to be added into the game yet, so there's no links to add them. This will hopefully change in the future when I get back home.
I'm thinking about putting Kirby in some game about Orange Juice, like 100% of it? How does that even work, how do you put so much Orange Juice into a Video Game.
Anyway I'll probably attempt to do it when I get home, aka next Year Post Christmas.
Based on unrelated events, I will be streaming Pokemon Red!
I have never played this version, but it seems really cool in a way future games don't quite reach. Come check it out with me!

I think I shall stream Pokemon Red later today...
Gen 1 mechanically seems so fascinating, im curious if we shouldve never had split special stat and good learnsets. I think GF was cooking!

๐จ FINAL CALL ๐จ
Submissions for the upcoming Six One Indie Showcase will be closing TONIGHT at 11:59 PM ET!
Reminder: This will be our *only* Showcase of the 2026. Demo Days will be taking the place of our usual Fall Showcase.
instead of this doomerism, think about what rebuilding looks like. think about how we can make this industry better after everything hits rock bottom.
Gen 1 was really cool & so many ppl crap on it without understanding its genius. It's undeniable that Gen 1 is one of a kind within Pokemon, so I wanna see what GF was cooking. Although they didn't have the best skills, they made smth so magical & world changing. Very inspirational for ppl like me!
spirit was lost in translation. Gen 1 had mono special, overwhelmingly Normal-leaning movesets, Stat EXP, a buncha glitches/exploits & other 1st game jank. Last time I played Gen 1 was Pokemon Yellow in middle school, so I should replay it again to see what they were cooking, bc I think mechanically
In terms of the games itself, Leaf Green was my first ever video game, so I have a massive soft spot for it. Got a Pearl Blue GBA SP & LG in 2006 since my cousins had smth similar.
I love Gen 3 mechanically, no Phys-Spec split, modern EVs, abilties & low move power, but I wonder how much of the OG
Games r luxury & there's so many ways around it, so ppl acting like their rights are being denied bc FRLG is $20 seems silly to me.
Of course I want Pokemon to be cheaper as well, but i dont think shaming ppl away from buying it is a good strat to achieve that goal, since i've yet to see that work
Pokemon Fire Red/Leaf Green for $20 bucks, huh?
Def overpriced, def Pokemon, but idk why ppl r making such a big deal esp since those saying its too expensive r likely to just emulate it anyways. Online play and events would make it more worth tho, but Showdown exists for Gen 3 battles.
