This is 100% real. I tried every trick from bringing a book to eating at odd times to eating anywhere but the lunch room. I worked service roles where my entire shift was customer service. I wasn't "antisocial". I needed a heckin break and a chance to stop smiling and stop talking.

No amount of neurodiversity awareness training will ever make up for the fact that the average person takes it personally when you want to have lunch alone.
