I figure that the only way blogging right now will work for me is if I just do it for myself.
@charlesatan.bsky.social was right: Iβll be finishing all the English volumes of the Apothecary Diaries light novel this week. Iβm down to LN 14 & 15. Honestly curious what my withdrawal symptoms will be like when Iβm done.
Really happy that you got to join and there was interest, Kokay! Good luck on the rest of the process, and I hope the best for you, i.e., an offer!

Love this, Adan & Feli! Also, as someone who read the early version, you should totally get representation!
Picking up where I left off in EMPIRE OF AI, and I just keep thinking, the whole world is Omelas, and instead of a child being sacrificed to suffering, itβs whole communities or countries.

Proud of the flotilla, everyone did a great job quickly responding to the attack.
I definitely get why the boats stay spread out. How pathetic is it to bomb a ship SO far away from Israeli territory in the middle of the night?
Ok, Apothecary Diaries is nice and I will likely get into the LNs bec I need to know the rest of the story, but it is also, um, slow. So fine, I shall be watching the show with the chainsaw coming out of a guyβs head.
After around an hour addressing my inbox post-2 week sales trip, Iβm happy to report that Iβve gotten the unread emails down to the 500s.π
Iβm not entirely sure, as I havenβt looked at the price of fuel in each country. But itβs standard of living costs, in general. Ours is high: transpo, food, rent.
Have read all existing chapters of Dandadan, which means Iβve voluntarily subjected myself to the torture of waiting for a new chapter every week. Yay, me.
Ang pinakamahal talaga na Grab sa SEA, liban sa Singapore, ay ang Pilipinas. As in malayo compared sa iba
Missed a PO for a key title, so now am quite upset with myself because it might arrive late.π
I just got onto the Dandadan bandwagon, and Iβm only 80+ issues in, but I have to say, the Evil Eye/Jiji arc is an amazing allegory for creating a kind society for PWDs.
Andaming kelangan gawin, huhuhuhu.
Anas has social media in Gaza that predates the war, is #83 on the Gaza Vetters list docs.google.com/spreadsheets... and his older brother is @osamabasilps1.bsky.social whom Iβve shared before.
Anas and his family are living in tents and trying to survive but they are focused on their future β€οΈ
When you want to conduct a genocide without people seeing what you're doing, you kill all the journalists. That's exactly what Israel is doing. They just murdered 5 Al-Jazeera journalists living in a tent next to al-Shifa hospital.

Four Al Jazeera staff, including reporter Anas Al Sharif, were killed in an Israeli attack on a tent for journalists outside the main gate of Gaza's al-Shifa hospital aje.io/onll19
Listening to a masked man kink, stalkerish dark romance and why is it hilarious??
This last week, I find I have a day to finish a book before some deadline. Youβd think that would result in a lot of books read in this month, yes? No, it does not.π
I may have confirmation that Iβm a cool mom. My sonβs gf apparently checked out my Spotify lists (wc I honestly didnβt know you cld do), & has told my son that my musical taste is cooler than his. Yay, me.π On a side note, they are also offering to help me move my playlists to Apple Music.
Trying to finish five books by Weds and sample a few others. Wish me luck.
For today, being a supportive wife means explaining what βslutty little glassesβ are to hubby and sending him pics of Jonathan Bailey in them, so that he doesnβt feel too bad about having to wear his own glasses.
βLuck is the magic that happens when the right reader feels the right book in their soul - and then cannot shut up about it.β
Something about the way LLMs build in the idea that to find something out, you shouldn't read an already existing text that other people have also read (ew!); you should get fresh text generated just for you. Each time, new disposable text.
It's been my experience that many of the people who denigrate any sort of genre writing don't read much or any of it, or if they ever did, it was decades ago. It's easy to minimize what you don't read, in a market segment you don't know how to address, with an audience you won't deign to approach.
Saw a report of the marketing initiatives on display at the last Seoul Intl Book Fair, and my god, they were amazing, not expensive (mostly, I think), and fun! Hats off to the Korean pubs and organizers who came up with them.
I'd just like to point out how weird it is that places with hundreds or even thousands of reporters β the NYT, WaPo, CBS, NBC, AP, etc. β are all getting pummeled on every major story by the dozen computerboys at Wired. To fumble the bag this consistently is, at some point, cowardice and a choice.
Apparently a real headline from Rolling Stone. I, for one, will not be surprised if Grok turns into Skynet.
