I am indeed late diagnosed with a kiddo also somewhere on the spectrum. He's not low or high. He does general education but with a 1:1. He's afraid of driving. Not sure what our future holds, but he and I are in it together.
Bizarre for Frith say that increased autism diagnoses "overshadows the needs of those with intellectual disabilities, who require much more intensive support." I don't know a single late-diagnosed #ActuallyAutistic self-advocates who wants to erase high-support needs people.
