I'm an Icelandic/Red River Métis poet, mother, grandmother & wife learning to live with uncertainty. Unsure which origin story to claim I choose science, & the knowing held within cells vibrating every language my Ancestors spoke. I am “Water made flesh."

Thank you for your kind words. Padraig reading of the poems and the offerings of what he sees in each poem is amazing.
Just turned 70 & am familiar with 95% of what is on this list. Reading this felt like a walk down memory lane & reminded me just how much the world has changed. I do miss some things like the slower pace of life we once enjoyed. Even so I don't want to go back.

Hey with all of this “buy Canadian” as a response to the tariffs, can we also remember to READ CANADIAN.
Canadian publishers will struggle to distribute books to the US, and Canadian authors struggle to get published there. American authors have a much easier time to be published here. Soooo….

I believe that what I focus on grows, but am finding it hard to look away as you know who takes over as president. I invite you to join me in spending time focusing on this photo. Every time I look at it I am reminded that I can return to the light by shifting my focus and it's okay to rest.
I remember seeing her and her daughters speak at the Vancouver Writer's Festival launch of this book. Powerful stuff!! She is missed.
She said what needed to be said...
