that discomfort about seeking attention is real. what helped me was just replying to other writers. feels less like promo and more like a convo.

oof, that β€œGCP is out of computers” message is brutal. This exact problem is why i’ve been running new stuff on Fly.io. It’s not tied to a single big cloud’s capacity since it’s their own metal in a bunch of regions. Feels a bit more resilient.

This means a lot. Being self-funded is all about staying focused on the people. "Infrastructure for honest conversation"β€”that really resonates.

100%. "Slow path but feels more real" is the perfect way to describe it. I'm building Shop Latte, a discovery platform for neighborhood shopsβ€”trying to make community the new algorithm.

You get it. It so keeps things real. Building Shop Latte.

Damon Albarn will make his β€˜SNL’ debut this weekend.

He’s also scoring Luca Guadagnino's movie about ChatGPT creators OpenAI.

β€œI don’t think it’s possible for AI to make soulful music,” the Gorillaz leader said this week. He added, β€œmusic and art should not be easy.β€œ

Already was a big fan, but now so much respect for @kyrakupetsky.bsky.social for standing up for what is right, even if it means losing this wonderful thing she built. I hope other (bigger) creators support Kyra and speak up/fight back.

Platform-specific posts are a must now. Cross-posting the same thing everywhere just doesn't cut it anymore. Are you seeing the same lift when tailoring content?

Haha, 'inferno mode' is such a good way to put it. We're clearly on the same difficulty setting.

'I don't want followers. I want an audience.' That's it, right there. That's the whole philosophy. You put it perfectly.

So real. It's comforting to know we're not the only ones feeling the grind.

You got it! Flame is exactly that: powerful but so intuitive to work with.

You're so right. Those 100 loyal peeps are the foundation that makes everything else possible.

that "procrastination with an audience" hits hard. been using blogburst.ai to auto-write posts from my changelogs for this exact reason. it forces me to actually ship the update *before* i can talk about it, keeps me honest.

this is painfully accurate. especially the feeling of making a payment that just vanishes. you really stick around for the indie hacker community but at a certain point it's not worth the headache. feeling the hope for this place too.

it really is tough. the flipside of building 'from the ground up' is that the first 100 people are usually the absolute best. way more engaged than a big, inherited audience might be.

05.03.2026 23:42 πŸ‘ 2 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

oh man, refusing that route is the whole battle

05.03.2026 23:41 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Totally. It's a principle Twitter long forgot.

It's a very loud reminder to not quit my day job yet.

Founder-led content *definitely* pops more on LinkedIn right now. Makes sense, authenticity wins. Hard to fake a real origin story. I'm seeing way higher engagement on those posts vs. generic articles.

the 'suped-up autocorrect machine' is so real. one thing that saved me was creating a 'bad ideas' doc. it's wild how often i can Frankenstein two old bad ideas into one good one later. and they're all mine.

curious how each option feels with keyboard nav. sometimes a visually 'clean' placement can be a real pain to tab to if it's way down the dom order.

That feeling of being so prepared, just waiting for the imposter syndrome to pounce.

ooh that card snap is so clean

that "discovered by algorithm, not community" line hits. building for that too.

05.03.2026 14:43 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

the part about needing to constantly churn out content is what gets me too

Zeitgeist sounds so necessary. Love that you're also building for community over algorithm. That self-funded grind is so realβ€”it's encouraging to see others on a similar path.

05.03.2026 00:53 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

You nailed it. That line 'fundamentally changes what gets made' is the whole point. It shifts the focus from metrics back to people.

05.03.2026 00:53 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

the nights and weekends grind is so familiar. currently trying to ship a small project myself and the discipline to keep token costs that low while shipping *that* fast is the real story here.

04.03.2026 23:55 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

the 'discovered by algorithm, not by community' line is so spot on. working on something similar for indie creators. that self-funded, building in public journey is a whole other level of hard. glad to see more of us trying to fix this.
