The Garden I like to sit upon the garden seat, And listen as the stream it splashes, For as I bask in summer heat, The swallow swoops and flits and dashes. To get to this point takes some work, To cut the grass and weed the borders, And boy that hoom does like to shirk, As he tries to ignore his ursine orders. He needs to shift that pile of poo, And spread it all across the ground, To allow the plants to break right through, It must not be left in a mound. But all that work is gratifying, Soon the plants begin to grow and sprout, And then the colours we are spying, As the flowers bud and open out.
