I've been listening to the Lord of the Rings soundtracks a lot lately, and I think that means it's time for a rewatch marathon soon and/or to finally read the books
There's a story in here that should have had at least 90 minutes to fully explore it, and I'm disappointed by the end result
With that being said, I think pink films simply don't do it for me. The softcore segments at the start felt like more a hindrance than an additive, and the transgressive nature of the film has arguably been done better. Especially by the late-80s
I've logged 2K+ different films on @letterboxd.social and this is the first time I haven't given a rating. I don't think it was necessarily a bad film, but I also failed to get anything from it that I hadn't already gotten from Videodrome or Videophobia (which definitely takes inspiration)
Glad I checked my emails before heading to bed. Had no idea this had already shipped. Can't wait to give it a spin tomorrow! Easily one of my favorite Carpenter and Lovecraftian films
