Opinion Editorial Board "President Donald Trump's decision to capture dictator Nicolás Maduro on Saturday is one of the boldest moves a president has made in years, and the operation was an unquestionable tactical success. The next step is ensuring that this triumph sets Venezuela up for stability rather than chaos."

After his mom died, Fry Bread author Kevin Maillard found himself wondering, "but where did she go?" So he wrote about it. His new kids' book is And They Walk On, illustrated by Rafael López.
Judges are having to write orders to combat DOJ gamesmanship b/c the presumption of regularity is toast, i.e.: Judge Xinis: "Is my oral order sufficient or do you need it in writing now?" or last night when DoJ circumvented a TRO on semantics. We discuss: www.muellershewrote.com/p/new-judge-...
This is one of those examples where, if the flood hadn’t happened and a camp director was telling you about this story it would be a perfect example of red tape, bureaucracy, the hassle of regulation etc. And yet.

At a comedy show, Mahmoud Khalil told Zohran Mamdani, “I am excited about the possibility of raising my son in a city where you are mayor.” It was a stunning moment, Hanif Abdurraqib writes.

We’re seeing reports of Feds raiding farms in Oxnard and Camarillo today. This just happened in Camarillo.
From Camarillo to Carpinteria, firing tear gas and less lethals at children, congressman being denied entry by soldiers, and one lone man tries to stop a military convoy with his El Camino.
Raids are still happening over L.A. today, btw, and Santa Ana is being hit especially hard right now.
Women and children handcuffed being taken into the downtown federal building.
The announcement on July 5 about a potential farm worker labor strike being organized generated controversy, alleging that Zaragoza, the organizer, is the one urging farmworkers, and that an action like that can put migrants in danger.

There's a reason nobody's been let out of CECOT before: because they can tell the world what's happening there. Kilmar Abrego just shared his horrifying experience there as part oḟ his lawsuit against the government.
Just to underscore--the president is attending the opening of an immigrant tent city that was purposely built (in one week) on an abandoned airfield in the middle of the Florida Everglades because it's surrounded by alligators and pythons to deter people from fleeing, or kill them if they do.
I obtained this from a community member minutes after arriving on scene following a raid at the Cypress Park Home Depot this morning. they detained day laborers.
Strip 16 million people of health insurance versus opening up five state-owned grocery stores as a pilot project.
Imagine being on the wrong side of this.

you know, if i were in the position of interviewing jeffries here, i would ask the congressman to specify exactly when and where mamdani used that language.

That this bill is being rammed through despite being widely unpopular proves the point, it's about dominion and control through exploitation, diminishing the quality of our lives.
For sure, it exacerbates inequality burdening the poor, but it also curtails freedoms in ways that burden us all.
