This is the government *refusing* to do something itself, and hoping to make it somebody else's problem.

Let's be very clear: "foreign investment" in the housing market is ultimately *not* money coming in - it's an endless stream of money going out.

This is the government's solution to the housing crisis: selling off the country piecemeal, so that you're endlessly paying rent to offshore landlords.
