We scheduled 2005's THE FOG for one reason: I believe it is the worst horror remake of the 2000s. It's weightless, boring, and looks like a Hollister commercial.

One Missed Call is a movie that keeps coming up.
That one is pretty confounding. As much as I appreciate Mena Suvari in general and the ludicrous addition of leaping to what zombies can do, it's astoundingly ill-advised in almost every way.
I guess I appreciate the swerve within, but I don't think it approaches the original's level of dread.
That was my opinion when I first watched it, but I've come around to its TOUREST TRAP-inspired elements on rewatch. But I get why a lot of people bounce off of it.
I think that's as far as I ever made it, too!
This and 2005's CURSED are my current production nightmare obsessions.

It was my 3rd time watching it, and I'd remembered NONE OF IT. Never has one film acted as its own MIB-style neuralizer more.
NOES '10 is probably the one I'm angrier at because of the "not your Daddy's Freddy" treatment of the plot ("He's a pedo now!" He was before, Craven just had the class to not emphasize it) and that it just limply retells the same story with little verve and no scares. It's both rote and offensive.
