oh I think the same people would say the same thing at least about Blacks, and probably, soon if not yet, about Jews.

I was born in an Iranian prison. My parents were held in their jails. My uncles lie in their mass graves.
Nothing you can tell me about the crimes of the Iranian regime that I haven't lived in blood and bone.
That doesn't mean I want my people bombed, maimed, killed, their homes in ruins.
If your vision of liberation comes only through the destruction of innocent lives, then it's not freedom you're after.

I am pro Iranian people. I stand with them against their own government’s repression AND against the imperial violence in the form of bombs dropped from the sky from Israel & the US who have already killed hundreds.

I support neither imperialism or dictatorship.

Sahar Delijani said it best:

that's weird. in the early 60s, they were the most liberal paper in ny; their columnists included Langston Hughes, Eleanor Roosevelt, Murray Kempton, Mary McGrory ... I learned about the civil rights movement from their headlines. maybe your parents' politics weren't as good as yours?

I think you're generally right about Bruni, but wrong about the Pitt. I guess people without empathy could show pity, but I think their general approach is empathetic. YMMV, of course, but β€” even a stopped clock...

I *observe* that you are a fascist.

I can't trust politicians who are anti-trans. Not because I'm "only searching for perfection" which is what centrists will be accusing me of for the rest of my life, it's because if you're not pro-trans you'll be garbage on lots of other issues too. Being anti-trans NEVER exists in a vacuum.
