March reading-
Black Mouth by @ronaldmalfi.bsky.social
Any of you read it or his others? which did you enjoy?
This is a first for me. So far I suggest it for fans of Stephen King, Joe Hill, Dean Koontz.

-Must add while I enjoyed & admired his books, I definitely did not/do not shared his conservative, rightwing views, opinions. Was it just over recent years or much longer? hard to tell exactly. One of many artists, writers, creatives where is it now a challenge to see art apart from artist.
Sad news to hear that Dan Simmons has passed away. I recently bought a couple more of his to read this year. Carrion Comfort greatly impressed me, a unique vampire epic.
Must continue on with the Hyperion books and Drood on my shelf.
Thank you and goodbye Dan.
Febuary reading-
Back on with the Dune sequel novels
Children Of Dune
God Emperor Dune
(so I'm up to date before the new sequel movie arrives)
-they're been on a bookshelf for a LONG time
And finally trying a book from @catcavendish.bsky.social
The Haunting Of Henderson Close. A ghost tale?
Hello all. On this Ash Wednesday I am going to watch the movie Lights Out. Seem to have missed or ignored it for a decade but caught some clips recently and seemed good. Plus produced by James Wan, so hey...
anyone seen it?
Oh nice :)
Also finished watching all of the Creepshow series- great fun. Quality possibly dipped halfway but near the end some excellent tales featuring the talent of Flanagan, a few iconic horror actors, great practical effects. Watched the last season on SHUDDER. Which were your favourite?
Finally going to try out the film POSSUM tonight. Late to it, but heard much praise since it was released.
Will I have restless sleep?
From Rebecca to The Others, Gothic cinema reminds us that ghosts are never just ghosts. Iβve rounded up 5 paranormal favourites and dug into why they linger long after the credits. Have a read:

Think I'll mention that I am on StoryGraph - Parsons10. Seems some folks might head that way more often as there are some tensions around goodreads (but I am still over there if you want to find me, review etc).

Today I bought books by Angela Carter & Kurt Vonnegut and said goodbye to the Beetlejuice sandworm in my area.
Also must wish you all a happy new year.
New fiction may be available sometime in 2026, working over drafts. Keep well and hopeful.
Yes, the first couple of episodes could have been released a year or more back.
What do you think about the long-anticipated ending episodes to Stranger Things?
What you expected/hoped for?
Let down or confused?
(No spoilers please my dudes)
Now with relatives gone and Xmas festivities over I can continue on through these much anticipated final few climactic episodes of Stranger Things. First couple have been quite slow but thankfully by Chapter Six: Escape from Camazotz the actions & effects are kicking off.
Are you watching?
Happy New Year & all the best bud :)
I'll hope for positive results in some form. :)
Boxing Day, good enough time for another viewing of Del Toro Frankenstein. This time with added Christmas cake.
Ah, we know the sheer trauma (or joy) of the Indy melting Nazis. We know :)
Merry Crimbo dude
Watched the latest Mark Gatiss Christmas ghost story special last night. Did you? It was the last moment when I thought 'Oh, yes. Nightmares tonight!'
Tap isn't a hug personal favourite. Guess if I'd have seen it during the hair metal times or late 80s it would have really hit the spot all the way. Do really love Stand By Me and When Harry Met Sally though, along with Misery.
Should really be bingeing Rob Reiner movies. Can stick Spinal Tap on anytime, plus bought the unnecessary sequel for family chuckles over Xmas. (Haven't seen it, not sure if it is decent).
A little difficult this year to keep festive but go on, tonight we'll try
Christmas Bloody Christmas on SHUDDER. Some kind of killer Santa fun. Seen it? Scary or funny- or both?
Okay we're on the 10th but think tonight we'll try French horror flick The Advent Calendar. Any of you seen it?
Over on SHUDDER. (2021)
If you're filling stockings soon or need something for under the tree or for Saint Nick, may I suggest my horror books. Go find them at @waterstones.bsky.social @barnesandnoble.com amazon or real & indie bookshops now. Thank you.
Oh hey, I did it for the first time and I got age 74! (Had a year of checking out jazz- Davis, coltrane, others, prog rock, 70s obscure AOR rock, electro synth...)
It is time for Stranger Things? Not a false alarm? it is arriving at long last?
Hey, I know it's not 'real' horror (all you horrorheads, chill please) and its a mashup of Goonies, Ghostbusters and X-Men but it is good fun.
I'll be (upside) down at Hawkins, see you there.
Finally watched Oculus last week. Very entertaining, surprisingly layered plotting. Credits rolled and what do you know- Mike Flanagan, of course.
Great performances from Karen Gillan, Katee Sackoff and Brenton Thwaites (whom I know as Nightwing/Robin in the TITANS tv series). Have you seen it?
November reading-
The Sphinx - Graham Masterton
The Gum Thief - Douglas Coupland
Next up- been waiting a while, last doorstop book of 2025
Black Leopard, Red Wolf -Marlon James
Have you read any of these?
