If you look honestly at the evidence, it's clear that global warming is real, that immigrants contribute positively to the economy, that safe supply saves lives, that more access to guns creates more violence, that sex and gender are complicated, and on and on.
I think it's a pretty grim state of affairs that it's not the bombing little girls or the poisoning of a major city that will cause political backlash in the US but god forbid bubba can't fill his lifted f-250 and people will finally start caring.
Because oil demand is so relatively inelastic, we could see $8/gallon gas in the US before we get to equilibrium between supply and demand after the strait of Hormuz was shuttered. That would certainly result in a full blown crisis in the US where there are not many transportation alternatives.
To the contrary, the framers of the American constitution were *deeply* concerned about a Trump. They believed - it turns out incorrectly - that the system of checks and balances, the other institutions, would prevent a despotic president.
