Once again thinking about the time a Canadian Cabinet minister had to apologise and repay the government after buying a single glass of orange juice that was deemed too expensive.

"In a just world they would be cast out and condemned, their misdeeds exhaustively catalogued, never able again to show their faces in polite society. That world may not come to pass .."

This is fabulous
Definitely read it today:

There’s nothing in Brad Treliving’s career that points to him being the guy to fix the Maple Leafs Breaking a team is easy. The Toronto Maple Leafs’ post-2005 lockout right up to Auston Matthews arrival make a strong case that sending a team towards the draft lottery is a hell of a lot easier than sending them towards the Stanley Cup. And before we completely lambast yet another General Manager for not making…

Every day of life under Trump is waking up to a headline like, β€œWyoming is missing”

The bottom line is Trump sacrificed 8 American lives (& counting) and more than 1,000 Iranian lives (& counting) for nothing. He hurt the US & global economies, destabilized the Middle East, & will pull out with the same Iranian regime in power. There's no silver lining.

A senseless, criminal waste

If Iran does anything that stops the flow of Oil within the Strait of Hormuz, they will be hit by the United States of America TWENTY TIMES HARDER than they have been hit thus far. Additionally, we will take out easily destroyable targets that will make it virtually impossible for Iran to ever be built back, as a Nation, again β€” Death, Fire, and Fury will reign upon them β€” But I hope, and pray, that it does not happen! This is a gift from the United States of America to China, and all of those Nations that heavily use the Hormuz Strait. Hopefully, it is a gesture that will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP

Trump is completely flailing. He didn't anticipate the economic blowback and now he's trying to undo the past 10 days and contain the damage.

Normally when someone is this deluded, you'd ask them to name the president to see how far they're really gone

America's fascist right has pulled a 180 and is selling the idea that expensive gasoline is a good thing. Americans have failed a lot of intelligence tests in the last decade. This is another one.

Kai Trump is 18 years old. Maybe instead of using Secret Service agents as a production crew for grocery store jokes about β€œgoing bankrupt” while people go hungry, she can enlist in the military and go fight her grandfather’s war

You average normie Democrat in 2026 loves AOC, wants to abolish ICE, and thinks Israel shouldn’t get another penny from us.

It’s laughable how out of touch centrist consultants and politicians are.

This is not trueβ€”driver’s licenses aren’t acceptable under the SAVE Act without additional proof of citizenship. The fact that they keep doing this sleight of hand should make clear that the SAVE Act is not something that β€œevery American gets”

If you look honestly at the evidence, it's clear that global warming is real, that immigrants contribute positively to the economy, that safe supply saves lives, that more access to guns creates more violence, that sex and gender are complicated, and on and on.

I think it's a pretty grim state of affairs that it's not the bombing little girls or the poisoning of a major city that will cause political backlash in the US but god forbid bubba can't fill his lifted f-250 and people will finally start caring.

Because oil demand is so relatively inelastic, we could see $8/gallon gas in the US before we get to equilibrium between supply and demand after the strait of Hormuz was shuttered. That would certainly result in a full blown crisis in the US where there are not many transportation alternatives.

To the contrary, the framers of the American constitution were *deeply* concerned about a Trump. They believed - it turns out incorrectly - that the system of checks and balances, the other institutions, would prevent a despotic president.

Seriously, it’s like a recurring amnesia. Leaving aside the assumption of some bad faith, it’s as if some people still can’t believe this is actually as bad as it is

in a healthy society with corporate boards tasked with managing long term success, every ceo that chose to publicly support republicans with company money would be fired on the spot for the willful destruction of the company theyre supposed to be protecting

Following the 'ruled by 12 year olds' theory, these men genuinely think the rules-based international order is like their mum

Trump just put in charge of Iran a guy considered to be a hardliner *before* we killed his father, mother, and wife. We helped cement his rule by blowing up a girls elementary school, scorching their skies, and cutting off their water. We should expect retaliationβ€”and blame Republicans for it.
