This city has a (sometimes filthy) charm and an innate ability to bring out the honesty in folks— brutal honesty in how we communicate, in who we are and what we stand for, in who we want to be. My body may take me elsewhere, but I think my soul will always be New Yorker.
I’m leaving NY soon and I’m sad about it. It’s all I’ve ever known. Just now while making my way through Flatiron, some guy on a bike cheerfully serenaded us all with A Thousand Miles via mic and speaker as he pedaled along.
