I'm not sure, normally I think it's the other way around (from Indian > Persia). I'm sure there's some kind of dialectic back and forth, though. In this case though Watan is coming from Arabic to Persian. Also Turkish too (we use the same spelling "Vatan" to denote Mother/Fatherland).

What a heartbreaking song: Ey Vatan Iran (O! Homeland/Motherland Iran). I can't say I understand the lyrics because I don't speak Farsi, It might have some nationalistic ones, but I feel more the sentiments of "yearning, saudade, seperation, diaspora, gurbet etc.) I hope I'm right :D

Reminded me of this journalist in Turkey, who defected to Erdogan's side, and ended up being a radical advisor to him with fringe economical and general ideas (like telekinesis attacks etc.) There's an anatomic similarity to these breed of utter swindlers. It's extremely clear that the US doesn't really have an objective here except to inflict maximum pain, and attacking water supply is going to end catastrophically for the entire region. It's not just a war crime, it's approaching a crime against humanity.
