A vaccine bandaid

You know what’s a fun game? Social proof! Turns out seeing people do a thing is an amazing way to get other people to do the same thing!

Get your shingles shot

Fun fact in my 20s I was very small, smaller than a size six but average height

I had this friend who was a dressmaker for local theatre

I said β€˜can you make me huge?’

Voila, 2007

Next up β€˜crossing the lateral line’. That’s a rabbit hole and no mistake

(And it’s one reason I do tai chi)

Bilateral coordination is one of those Big Deals, but when it isn’t working great it looks like a lot of other problems first (e.g. β€˜anxiety’).

So at a functional level, yeah. Cycling probably does make you and everyone else smarter.

Serious comment, bilateral movement (left and right side of body coordinated) strengthens the connection between left & right brain hemispheres. This is why crawling is such a big deal in babies/why bum-shuffle babies get physio intervention.

Friend can I invite you to invite Kid to look up β€˜bone maceration’ and then compel kid to do it in the garage?

Smells abominable but end product is scentless.

And it was just alive enough to spear him right through the thumb. The only actual injury of the whole drama.

I was not wearing a life jacket! Always ALWAYS wear life jackets.

We just managed to kick it to an uninhabited island before it went under completely. We slept there that night. In the morning my dad and his friend fixed the outboard (which was bust to start with) with hibiscus vine and coconut palm fronds.

Also we got the stingray and my dads friend punched it

I was eight, living in the Cook Islands. We were out in a leaky tinny, bringing in fishing nets. There’s a long complex story about a stingray caught in the nets but to summarise, the boat capsized, and because it was leaky the air under the hull started escaping real quick > it started to sink

Today is a good day to be extremely cool to your Iranian colleagues.

Related, I have never regretted doing lifeline accidental counsellor training. Didn’t today that’s for damn sure.

Guess what I speak Spanish

It says some scientists have worked out how to turn plastic waste into acetic acid (the vinegar bit of vinegar)

Which is dope

O sea, maravilloso!

Wife here, can confirm suspiciously unrenovated 1970s house background is exactly what it looks like.

We bought those chairs off fb marketplace though. And fwiw that’s my grandma’s table, most likely from the 80s?

Came across the phrase "cognitive DDOS" to describe our present culture.

Understood instantly what it meant.

…don’t think you two will agree about LLMs though, fair dues.

Because you have both liked this post - @folletto.bsky.social meet @pagingdrpaige.bsky.social , Tamsin, Erin. You are in different disciplines (international law in Aus and product development in UK) but you both have a very similar approach to sociology and research.

Anyone iirc. If you’re above a certain age it’s free but shingles hurts at any age. There is a $$ and a $$$ private shot, the $$$ one lasts forever.

Me too I am vaccinated to the hilt!

Jabs are like pokemon to me

Genuinely don’t understand why people are buying cars that have $$$$$$$ fuel when cars that have $ fuel are available

Even if the ev doesn’t suit you perfectly they are *so cheap
to run* it’s insane

Way to go!

No cancer no shingles, this is the ursine way 🐻

25.02.2026 21:02 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Australia! It will cost you about $600 to get the shot as an adult. That’s for β€˜shringix’, which is $$$ but will last you the rest of your life.

As my pharmacist said when he handed me the powder, β€˜are you brave of heart?’

Be brave of heart, get the shot!

We’re talking about different things. And I won’t be managing your feelings for you today.

That’s all from me, have a great day.
