It was because of him, that I took a sharp left turn with my education and took film studies. He was the start of my degree, and he was the end when I was tearing my hair out over a final presentation on Fire Walk With Me.
I was besotted. I watched everything he had done up until that point within a few weeks (other than season 2 of Twin Peaks which took a horrifyingly long time to get hold of in 2004). I ordered his short film dvd into work especially so I could get it.
