Low-quality reply but fuck it: that's lovely.

@JoyceCarolOates X.com speaking as glibly as Beavis & Butthead. does T***p even grasp the profound significance of what he has set in motion in the Middle East? this person whose most essential self is riding in a golf cart fatly, cheating at the profoundly insignificant game of leisure golf when he assumes no one is looking.
if βfor sale, baby shoes, never wornβ are the saddest six words, then βriding in a golf cart fatlyβ is the opposite of that
I think it was @sarahjeong.bsky.social who coined the idea that cats have to be relentlessly negged. I would never do this to a dog (innocent and pure) only to a cat (innately sinful, fallen)
Absolutely not what you're looking for, but I remember entering/exiting your mech in Titanfall 2 having a great feeling of fluidity and some rad animations.
The sound effect of entering a pipe in Mario is obviously an all-timer.
Like I don't *really* take offense here, but the argument that bsky users are what's keeping people on X seems backwards. The people who are there are what's keeping people there, not who is on the alternative.
(Also subtle tones of the "I just hate to do this" comic goin on)
You're defending its right to continued existence based on the stickiness of network effects; you're calling it "the commons."
X has users because X has users, the way some people are famous for being famous. Stop posting there and you help change the equation, but it is necessarily chicken and egg.
Came here to say exactly this
100% no doubt she knows how to leave work at work
always so funny to me when people are like βhow am I supposed to explain Gay to my kids?β my kid asks me way harder shit all the time. βwhy did they build the road this way? why are some people bad?β I donβt know. please ask me about Gay
This is why it is an important political project to force lawyers, bankers and tech bros to work fewer hours. They *will* make a lot of money, and then use that money to influence politics, and influence it for the worse because, having never had the time to read a book, they are stupid and evil
You done got me Dancing Mad with that one
Yesssss, have you seen the sequel though?? FF7 Rebirth is bonkers. Like, if you are digging Remake (as I did!) then buckle up because you're in for a treat
Oh no! I think they're both great, too, but believe 6 has the edge on 7, and now we must fight π
Unfortunately 6 predates 7, so the claim cannot be made
Also: Windjammers (1994) for best in its admittedly niche category of Frisbee Sports-Fighting. Also while we're on NeoGeo, how bout that Metal Slug for lavish side-scrolling shooty hijinks
This is a cursed shout, but I dunno if there's much argument to be had whether World of Warcraft locked up the entire genre over 20 years ago. Just been running the table ever since.
Open to someone swooping me with an earlier title, but for side-scrolling beat-em-up I'm gonna throw down for Capcom's Alien v Predator arcade in '94. Turtles in Time and Streets of Rage are heart picks, for sure, but AvP's gorgeous and blends elements from fighters in a crucial and satisfying way.
And, even though I feel cringe writing this I'm gonna power through: if you're feeling stuck in a rut, ask for help. Friend, therapist, activist organizers; whoever makes sense. But don't feel like you need to solo muscle through whatever is blocking your way.
FWIW coming unsolicited from an anonymous rando, I try to take comfort in the knowledge that small acts of kindness and courage by other people have a meaningful impact on my life in ways that their authors will never know. And that likely holds true in the reverse.
More like let's break things for fungi, amirite
Christ, I haven't posted in ages and this is what I break the silence for
Such a Vonnegut-ass answer (complimentary)
And let us never forget this...
imagining an all night diner in a redwall world. little rat smoking while cooking on a flaptop. burned coffee in an acorn mug. the whole thing is inside a pumpkin
Bo hurr
I def hear molespeak burbling from the kitchen, though the speaker's unseen
I think one of the biggest reasons itβs happening here is that many people still believe it canβt happen here.
That canceled TV show you'll never stop thinking about.
Yessssssss
Hilarious, stellar cast. Barrymore and Olyphant were made for those roles and I wish they got to occupy them longer.

In general, pretty much all video game adjacent IP from the 1990s is an utter disaster today rights wise. It's why GOG has to hire private detectives to figure out who even is the IP holder for a lot of games. The constant cycle of studio closures and mergers created a real mess.
