This runs deep (generations deep) in my family. One ADHD kids grows up internalizing they're a "bad kid", and in the effort to spare their kids that pain, they pass it on.

I'm so grateful that ADHD is better understood these days, even if we aren't perfect about it.

I’ve watched this unfold in slow motion since I was a kid in the β€˜90s. Nazi grifters preyed on my family. They failed to turn me into a Nazi.

But I’ve seen them openly want this for decades. These guys didn’t just show up - they’ve been waiting for their β€œmoment.” They believe it’s now.

Lay in the clover field
Let the vines grow over
A broken body healed
Weeds sow the closure
Of a mind now congealed
By low light exposure
Poured into its human shield

Amazing to watch these folks talk about how they are working to create a loving and benevolent machine god when, in reality, they're putting all their resources into trying to adjust the bigotry dial on the demonic hatred engine so it can reliably produce the n-word, but only when it's "welcome."

The ruling class is in a permanent tax revolt, but not because its members fear higher taxes. They successfully evade taxes set at any level. What worries them is the proliferation of public goods, which tends to enhance the independence of the working classes.

Just to log this, in case it escalates. This article, which claims I've endorsed an automated trading service, is a scam, which has nothing to do with me, the Guardian, or the BBC, whose logo has been mocked up.
The only financial advice I'd give anyone is "don't ask me for financial advice."

This artwork by David Hockney, titled "Divine," features a seated figure adorned in a vibrant striped robe, set against a dynamic blue and red patterned background. Hockney’s characteristic use of bold color and geometric composition emphasizes both the figure's presence and the modernist tendencies in his work.

Remember, kids, your expertise is so worthless that AI companies will not properly compensate you for it while at the same time it is so valuable they can aggregate it under your name and integrate it into their services as a feature.

Without your consent, naturally.

In less than two weeks, the US government has already spent more money bombarding Iran than it will contribute to cancer research this entire year.

Probably *a great deal* more money.

They would rather let you die, so long as you fear them while you are living.

Reaching net zero by 2050 β€˜cheaper for UK than one fossil fuel crisis’ Climate change committee finds move to renewable energy would also bring health, economic and security benefits

Achieving the UK’s net zero target by 2050 will cost less than a single oil shock and bring health and economic benefits.

Doing so would prevent the kind of shock that consumers are experiencing from the Iran war, which has sent the cost of oil and gas soaring.

People say genius can't be rushed but I think what isn't pointed out nearly enough is that non-genius also shouldn't be rushed. Non-geniuses are no less entitled to a personal quota of idle wandering, breaks to consume cake, staring blankly out a window and taking 11 days to reply to a text message.

the use of slop-machines reminds me of a story my commercial arts (graphic design) teacher told us back in 1991: how General Electric bought into the new tech hype - that if they gave their secretaries computers with the new, novelty graphic design programs recently available then they could

Long they have meandered

Even longer still

I really can't wait to see how big the lawsuit against grammarly gets and I hope the plaintiffs sue them into complete and fundamental nonexistence. Like, "the company has to scrap their code rather than sell it as assets, and then also dissolve" nonexistence.
