VA plans to seek public guardianship for some veterans deemed unable to care for themselves The effort will extend to hundreds of veterans who are homeless or at risk of homelessness but lack family support or legal representation.

I don’t know fam it feels like giving the government guardianship over unhoused veterans and forcing them into institutions might be bad.

Home care programs allow people of all ages to live at home, with their families, when they require a complex level of care.

HCBS programs help with personal care, personal development, transportation, job training, adult care programs- SO much that Medicaid normally won't cover but are CRUCIAL

are only allowed by the federal government if it is proven to cost less than institutionalized care (which Medicaid has to cover).

If the administration is able to come up with numbers that show it's less cost effective, the HCBS waivers are gone. Home care is gone. So, what does that mean?

First and foremost, I want to stress that while Medicaid is required to cover institutionalized LTSS, home care and HCBS services are optional programs provided by the state and funded by Medicaid. Usually through various waiver programs.

In September, two doctors stood at the White House and declared that they, and only they, had the courage to recommend leucovorin as a treatment for autism. New prescriptions doubled.

Today, the FDA refused to endorse it as a treatment for autism, saying there weren’t enough data to support it.

But like why was I nervous? 😂
