It's one of the MANY factors for hardship of black #Americans during the #JimCrow era.
The first transgender clinic, the Institute for Sexual Research in Berlin, was opened in 1919. It performed the first gender affirming surgery in 1930. It was obliterated by the Nazis on May 6, 1933.
The same authoritarian cisgender heteronormative mindset is trying to remove that history today.
