I’m still amazed, going through a bunch of press kits this week from both indie and triple A studios, how few promotional screenshots are actually useable. I reckon maybe 10%? I often post about this but should I make a little guide or is that horribly presumptuous?
Games mags - a window to the past. The ads tell you how game companies want you to think about their games. The stories & reviews tell you what actual players think. And each magazine is talking to a different demographic. We can not only visit the past, but we can learn from it. Long live game mags
