The lack of any serious consequences for the key players in the Robodebt scandal just gives a green light and a blueprint for current and future governments to get away with evil stuff like that again.

Robodebt was the worst failure of public administration in Australian history. It raised est. $1.73 bn of illegitimate debts from over 430,000 vulnerable Australians and plunged thousands of families into distress and grief. And still no real consequences.

The govt is making a big deal about giving temporary humanitarian visas to a small number of female Iranian ⚽️ players.

At the same time, the XBENCH is trying to block the govt passing legislation to enable it to suspend the temporary visas to 🇦🇺 already held by 7000+ Iranians outside this country.

It's looking increasingly like these guys thought that if they could wreak more death and destruction than the other side then they would be respected as strong powerful men and they would "win" and that would make them big important heroes. Very possibly they had no rationale deeper than that.

The NACC is for covering up corruption.

What the NACC has essentially done, after years “investigating”, is restate two findings made against lower level robodebt execs, and *toss out* the much more serious allegations against the likes of Katherine Campbell and Scott Morrison etc.
That’s it for the NACC. This will be the final straw.
