the already-disparate burden of reviewing will continue to stratify into one group producing high volumes of word-salad manuscripts and the other group, peer reviewers, expected to spend more time trying to make the papers make sense then the first group spent writing them.

Packed Red Line @wmata.com this morning. This train is still two stops from downtown!

I usually can’t but I had a mountain of laundry to do today and I appreciate that your questions were very much in good faith. I hope it’s clear I like and respect both candidates and I’ve made a personal choice to work with one in particular that I’m excited about.

Mark, I’m a person that you actually know in real life and I am advising the campaign on policy, not strategy. That said, I did talk to Kenyan about this forum and I thought he had a pretty good point about needing to be door knocking on weekends. These forums are usually on weeknights.

There will be a written platform. Kenyan 100% understands that - it’s how I first got to know him.

Yep, I really get the questionnaire was disappointing. I don’t think it’s the final word. I think it was a messy mistake.

I think you are reading way too much much into stuff that just isn’t there. But look, what I’m volunteering to do is, among other things, talk to him about buses. All I can tell you is I wouldn’t be doing that if I thought he wouldn’t listen.

Working on getting the platform out asap

Has he ripped out any bike lanes?

My top priorities are housing, transit, and economic development. I also love Kenyan’s work on community safety and closing the racial wealth gap. This is how I first got to know Kenyan:

I personally don’t write off anyone - I’m a lifetime WABA member and cycling is my origin story in local politics, I’ll never not care about cycling deeply. Campaign time is finite, just because Kenyan’s team thinks he should be on doors today doesn’t mean he doesn’t care.

I would definitely not take that bet. It’s not necessary to caricature KRM as someone he’s not to argue that JLG is better on one issue!

For single-issue bike voters I think Janeese (who I have campaigned for in two elections) is the better candidate. I’m not trying to argue otherwise. Personally I just have a lot of other policy areas I’m concerned about and that I want to work on.

No, I think he’s out knocking on doors. But I believe the campaign returned the PAC’s questionnaire.

Your question is also good though, I do think it benefits the city to have people helping all candidates get better, shifts the Overton window.

I don’t think any of those things was or is true about Eric, but I can see how others might form that impression. I’ve had the opportunity to work with all the players involved so for me this is also just about what I know about how the jobs work and what skills etc are relevant.

Yes, and while of course I have advice the platform is being built around his record. I’ve followed Kenyan’s career since his Ward 5 days and I’ve hoped he would run for mayor for a long time.

I also need to know this

It definitely could have been better. But it came very soon after the campaign formed and pre-platform so it doesn’t really make sense to view it as definitive. I’m advising on the platform and feeling really good about how it’s coming together.

I’m delighted to share that I’ve signed up with the campaign of @kenyanmcduffie.bsky.social for mayor of #DC. I’m looking forward to advising the campaign on housing, transportation, and economic development.
