Anyway I'm getting Waves next year and I will be keeping up the tradition of me only ever choosing the water starter that I've kept up almost uninterrupted since 1999

And yes, I get that the mobile games have their audiences. I have TCGP on my phone. Players of the mobile games aren't gonna wait for February 27th specifically to hear about new updates coming to the games. These presentations should not be mostly mobile game updates.

Every single year Pokémon Day Presents is the most "this could have been an email"-ass Direct with barely anything substantial until the end, and no matter how many times this is poorly received nothing ever changes. It's really weird

The fans shouldn't have to pick up the slack for celebrating something as big as the 30th anniversary of the biggest RPG franchise in the world, that should be up to, y'know, The Pokémon Company

Like, I dunno. Winds and Waves looks cool and a region based on southeast Asia sounds awesome and I'm glad the yearly release cycle seems to be broken but I was expecting something more substantial than "new login bonuses for our mobile games!" taking up most of the runtime for the 30th anniversary

It's kinda crazy how Pokémon fans are doing more to celebrate the 30th anniversary than The Pokémon Company tbh
