And I think it's because it barely feels like a superhero show at all.

And I get it, if you don't pay dues you don't get to be in the union. That's how unions work.
But raising dues that are already a challenge for out of work people to afford feels out of touch with how much the industry has been suffering.
I had to stop paying my dues because I couldn't afford it due to looking for work for almost 2 years. I called and asked if there was any assistance or flexibility for members experiencing financial hardship, and they said no. I was put deemed not in good standing and lost my health insurance.

I'm definitely biased, but it's actually insane to me that the animation guild is trying to raise union dues lmao
I'm not anti-union, but the timing of this is infuriating to me.
My fiancée was the one who firsy showed me the Trolls movies and they are SO fun. I had been sleeping on them for so long, I had no idea how good they are! They're all very different but it totally works

I think I've hit a point where I don't have the time or energy to waste on "drama of the day". There's too much true evil and corruption going on that we're learning more about every day, and anything else feels so meaningless

Healing from the legitimately traumatizing experience of all this is going to take time. I'm going to have to really work to reclaim peace of mind and relaxation. My nervous system is SHOT, boys!! But I'm glad I'm in a place where I can work on healing finally.
For two years, every waking moment has been survival. If I wasn't doing freelance, I was doing commissions, if I wasn't doing commissions I was job hunting. I burned the candle at both ends until I had nothing left.
And now, my body physically doesn't know what to do with rest. Like, at ALL.
Doing a lot of thinking about healing TM tonight.
The past two years of my life have put me in a nonstop state of fight-or-flight, and I've finally got my feet under me with what seems like a stable job... And I found myself feeling guilty and anxious for resting after work.
