Accessibility is anti-fascist.
You can do a lot by literally just adding alt text.
I want to become a certified DHS Trusted Tester while it's still possible. Due to the half ass job of removing words like 'accessibility' from federal websites many of the links are broken and just link back to the DHS home page.
scientists and scholars estimate we are only a decade away from learning all the lyrics to "black" by pearl jam
Three years ago today, the day before my 31st birthday, I launched the Accessible Social website. Since then, more than 110,000 people worldwide have visited the site, representing nearly every country on the planet.
I couldn't be prouder of Accessible Social and the many people it has helped. 🎉
Digital redraw of that one "Nothing in life matters" meme. On the left you have my sona, caffee. A pale-skinned woman with thick eyebrows and short bob dark brown hair that curls towards her face, the right side tucked behind her ear. Wearing a sleeveless backless turtleneck, high waisted bell bottom slacks. A huge chestnut colored ribbon is on her back, tied around her waist, with gold stripes and sparkles dotted throughout. On her head, she wears a huge dark brown witch hat with gold trimming, a big chestnut ribbon with gold stripes and sparkles dotted throughout tied around it and a four-pointed star at the end of it. Sparkles fall from the inside of her hat. She also has bracelets and rings, all gold. She's sitting on a little chair with her head on her hands on a dark background. Text at the top left reads as "Nothing in life matters...". On the right you have @prismagic.bsky.social sona, Prism. A pale-skinned woman tiny dot eyebrows and short side swept pink hair, the left side tucked behind her ear. Wearing a off shoulders White sweater with rainbow stained glass details and a black choker. She also wears a white witch hat with rainbow stained glass interior and a small golden moon detail, star earrings and shades in a stained glass style. She is giving you a thumbs up with a smile. Text at the lower middle reads as "Nothing in life matters". Text at the top read as "Nihilism. Stereotype. Reality."
inside you there are two witches ✌️✨
(featuring @prismagic.bsky.social wretched pink thing 🌈)

*wearily* please……. Can someone invent a way out that isn’t through……… please I’m dying………
i know this is a generalization with many exceptions but i’m specifying daughters because: 1) i’m Going Through It right now and this applies to me specifically. 2) in my personal life, i tend to only see siblings who grew up socialized as daughters assume this role.
THIS.
It's really important to understand that Social Security gets medical records — incredibly detailed, intimate medical records — when someone applies for social security disability benefits
For people who don't use screen readers, it can be difficult to understand how screen readers work. If you're interested in learning how people use screen readers, check out this demo from Marc Sutton and The University of California San Francisco.

This Administration is turning its back on science. If you never had the measles or polio, thank science. If you use a smartphone as easily as a computer, thank science. If you want to know if it will be raining tomorrow, thank science. A total disaster is coming.

Point being for making this was to have an alternative from the GitHub repository as I know not everyone uses GitHub. So if a person wants to check the links out, here’s a way to do so
For example: I opened this in mobile and woo buddy. Not terrible but not great. I need a skip link and to work on the nav menu. I need to adjust keyboard focus states for the nav menu items. I need to go back and look at my code because I think I need to add an h1 on the pages.
Emphasis on the last part. I know how to consult on accessibility and write requirements when that’s what I do for a living so it’s been fun to sit in another seat and put something together.
y’all I streamed last night and turned The Accessibility Resource Library into a website 🥹 it’s not at all finished and I have a handful of things/ideas to put in place. (continuing to build accessibility in as well!)

Pike Place Market in downtown Seattle down by Elliot bay, the notable Ferris wheel is in the distance while the sun gleams against the water, the sky is blue and cloudless.
Things are scary but ducks keep swimming and the sun keeps shining and you gotta soak it up unapologetically
(Also 💙 Seattle)
😩😩 I may or may not have bought a new Windows laptop partially for this reason

"State of Accessibility" #axecon keynote didn't mention changing accessibility in the US...
My livelihood & healthcare are under threat at national & state levels... the talk focused on selling an AI tool companies will use to avoid hiring people like me.

hey, what the fuck?
THIS IS IT. The special general elections for Florida’s 1st & 6th Congressional Districts are on APRIL 1, 2025. If we flip these seats, we can STOP Project 2025. No excuses! Mark your calendars! Show up!
I haven't been posting because I'm literally lost for words.
