Crates have arrived! I’m so excited to build the Sibylant Sisters House inside the Boston Public Library. This is a story world that likely would not have been born without my mom’s love of books and libraries, and so, this moment is alive with all the joy of a homecoming. @thetriennial @bplboston

This is The House Our Families Built. There’s a @pbs video linked in the comments which goes into a little more depth about the project. Essentially, it was January 2021, still at the height of the pandemic, and we were starving for art that brought us out together.

The metal heart in the center was created with a metal worker who creates the hand cut decorations that flank the edges of Thai temples.
These works were created during my residency in Chang Mai. Found objects from the flood piles and treasures from the flea markets becoming part of the Eidophone series, and, the absolute pleasure of being able to work with Chang Mai artisans.
This portrait, and the structure of the junkraft Alice are a bit of a love poem to Thailand. And now she’s here at @sacbangkok in collaboration with @turnercarrollgallery and @helloprintfriend through April ❤️
Cities are works of art in their own ways, built by thousands of hands through a series of formal and ad hoc agreements, and the language of Thai cities was one that deeply influenced me.
She’s home! I created this print way back in 2007 after a visit to Thailand that blew my mind. This was a period when I was also building and living on rafts, and I was completely obsessed with the hand made elements that seemed so much a part of the Thai metropolis.
