This protocol was developed thanks to the TYPEX project, as part of the PEPR - advanced varietal selection (SVA) by the SAS and Dragon teams of the IJPB @ijpb-versaillescly.bsky.social of the INRAE BAP department.
3/3 The protocol produces edited plants as early as the T0 transformed generation, and stable, non-transgenic lines at T1 generation.
2/3 The use of a fluorescent marker enabled rapid, non-destructive detection of transformed shoots. Combining this approach with a grafting strategy overcame the difficulties of root regeneration, a major obstacle in pea.
1/3This innovative protocol, based on the use of the CRISPR-Cas9 system, enables edited plants to be obtained rapidly. The protocol is based on the editing of the TENDRIL-LESS gene, the mutation of which generates a phenotype that can be easily observed by the transformation of tendrils intoleaflets
Dear bluesky community, I am glad to launch the SASteam account with the publication of our paper on transformation and edition in pea : Efficient and heritable gene editing through CRISPRβCas9 in Pisum sativum - Soulard - Plant Biotechnology Journal - onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/...
