There’s not much in it between Rubber Soul and Abbey Road but I’m always interested to hear where someone’s interest lies

Put you on the spot here, what’s their best album?
I don’t often like paintings of big cats, but I like y’ocelot

You like PJ? Nirvana? Mudhoney? It wouldn’t have happened without the Metropolis. Help us make this documentary.
On a green background, the title 'coming soon on Punk Rock Philosophy'. One text box describes the topic of Magdelen Laundries and another one explains medical misogyny with an example of a news headline.
Hello punks! I've got some very interesting posts coming up on Punk Rock Philosophy- one looks at the events behind a punk song about the Magdelene Laundries in Ireland & another medical misogyny, explored via a MCR Punk song! @chrisnickson2.bsky.social just sent you a message via your website, just in case you don’t have notifications turned on. Thanks
Briton here: Andrew was binned to protect the Royal Family brand, Mandy to minimise the effect on Labour, and Starmer is being pilloried because the papers see the way the wind is blowing. It’s not some glorious revolution. In the UK we continue to play whack-a-mole with entitled white men
We gotta come up with a better system than “everything rests on whether these twelve billionnaires are nice”
February’s gonna be another set of fascinating conversations with fantastic guests.
** Trash Panda Go Kart is an animist witch band in the ancient rock&roll tradition—our songs are spells in favor of tearing the fascists down & bodily autonomy for all. Sure we sing about critters & bugs & flowers but what's more anti-fascist than tree-huggin? We're also big on joy, hope & love. 🤘🥰🌈
Just finished Airside, the last book published by Christopher Priest in his lifetime. Like all his work, painterly, oblique, and devoid of easy answers. There isn’t another author of speculative fiction whose work moves me as much as his does. A fitting epitaph for a giant of literature
Your very first clues. The Ascent Of Lies, coming early next year.
It's 1862, and the Confederates are in Yorkshire...
@discellany.bsky.social Hey Man, I just wanted to say thank you for the excellent ‘90s Overlooked Underheard playlist. I was au fait with a few of them (Fugazi, Shudder To Think, Swell), but most were new to me. Really enjoying Animals That Swim, Tar, and Versus. Cheers!
The Winwaed, AKA the Bloody Beck

It’s a staggering piece of work. I bought the 30th anniversary edition last year and it’s glorious. Further to Kurt’s appreciation of Pod, he also really liked ‘Your Ghost’ from Hips and Makers. Glad to see Swell get a shout out. One of the most underrated bands of the 90s IMHO.
To be fair to them, they’ll have just been in their 20s when it started
Post a perfect album from the
90s that isn't Nirvana, Pearl Jam
Soundgarden, or Alice In Chains

A meme depicting former US president Bill Clinton sat stocking-footed on a carpeted floor, holding the LP Fast Stories…From Kid Coma by the band Truly. Around him on the floor there are three other records: Infrared Riding Hood by Tad, Change Has Come by Screaming Trees, and Screaming Life by Soundgarden
Me, every day
Still art, and still something to say, 40+ years down the line. I worship this band
I was really interested in reading your thought process here, and I think you’ve done about as much as is possible to avoid a pratfall. Would love to read the story one day
This song is such a great example of Kurt’s genius songwriting. It’s so immediate, and catchy, and yet there’s just enough of his musical weirdness sprinkled throughout. I often think this could be a Weezer track
Did they really burn nine people alive that day?
