A young Mr. Cards frees itself of its disguises in a moment of (mostly) privacy, to give farewell to its old self. 40 years into its change; it has to finally, truly hang up its old hat. Humanity is behind it now.

Umbra Beatrix, a purple owl-doll with glasses, yellow eyes, black beak and accented feathers, and a lightly peach-colored face, is sitting contentedly on some books. She's wearing a purple cropped blazer and skirt, with a black corset, cape, and pants with blue streaks and golden accents. She's also got shapely high-heels on, and light blue stockings. Fun fact! Umbra usually stands at either the height of a large book, or 6'9", and almost never anything in-between. The chest fluff is amazing for hugs. I think I forgot to mention she has chest fluff. She has chest fluff sticking out between the neck and corset. Anyway, text next to the doll reads: (Someone said in earshot that she was expensive-looking, and could be pawned for at least a few hundred dollars)

Umbra again, depicted in black and white, only wearing the corset, heels, and stockings. The owl's posing is generally chaste, sitting down with her legs together and her wrists rested on her knees, looking down past them with her beak open and face relaxed. Her dialogue reads: "It's a little funny, but being a doll, I routinely forget how to sleep. It can feel oddly indulgent and wasteful, when there's books to organize in the library, and research to do. Then, one day, I find myself particularly cranky, and sure enough, a proper rest restores my senses. ...Once, I was tucked into a little bed, by staff who thought I was inanimate. ...I quite liked it." Next to her last speech bubble is a doodle of her looking "chibi" and comfy as hell in a bed, tired but content. Another fun fact: Umbra can also transform into a book. Umbra has many talents. She's agender and kinda sounds a bit like an old man, but due to presentation is often referred to as she.
