I thought I would share what 100,000 words and 350 pages look like after studying part-time for my PhD. I have listened to the stories of the professional lives of early career teachers over three years as they navigate a range of contextual, situational, and relational factors in their schools.

Totally agree with your three reasons and also it is about self-efficacy too as teachers need to believe that any targets they set themselves, or are set for them, are achievable so are willing to invest time and effort in them, otherwise little progress will be made.
Ask them about the type of teacher they want to be? Then ask them how you as a school can help them to become that type of teacher and what they they think they will need. Then check in regularly about how progress towards that is going and what else they need?
Not often school in Ipswich gets mentioned in a national speech. Grateful for the recognition of the teachers and leaders across Suffolk and Norfolk who work tirelessly for the students as living in the countryside, brings its own social and educational issues which are not widely recognised.
Yes would happily help as I am in final year of PhD about professional identity and theories of self determination and self-efficacy of early career teachers so this sounds really interesting.
Would like to be included please as spent 10 years leading an ITE programme. π
Really like the phrase βlens of hopeβ to describe the approach we need to take towards the invisibility of women in senior leadership.
Thank you, the intention was the scenarios were to act as a rehearsal so that colleagues could see what happened if they dealt with a chewing gum incident with a slightly more aggressive approach rather the one they had been advised to use so they could gain confidence about the strategy they used
In 2012, I wrote a book published by Routledge about behaviour in schools. My book was based on those stories where you had choices about the direction of the narrative, outlined a behavioural situation, gave three options so readers could see how they played out. www.routledge.com/What-if-it-h...
I am delighted that my article about developing an authentic confidence in FE through research inquiries was one that was included. π
Have ordered it and looking forward to reading it whether it has sharks in it or not. π
Would like to join please
A balloon display designer. π
Letβs hope we are never in the same place at the same time as I have the same collection. π
I havenβt got a template on OneNote other than the line management meeting on there is is structured around 3 headings - To know, to discuss and to decide which are pre-populated before the meeting and then notes added as the meeting develops. Might be of some use?
Any thoughts or guidance on how to help teachers to support students to aim for high grades at A Level please? #edusky
