A nerd in a teal sweater holding a stack of books about railroads in front of a wall of framed maps.
Hi. I'm Andrew. I own New England's oldest map store because last year I moved across the country after an old guy retired and gave it to me Willy Wonka-style. Visit my store in Rhode Island. www.mapcenter.com

Hi, hello, so this is my sister (SJOT), and well, sheβs in a bad way. If you could take a gander at her thread and then if you know a gynecologic oncologist or cervical cancer specialist, or adjacent, could you share with me or her?

We -- Israelis, including colleagues, teachers, students, friends, family and community members of people who were killed on Saturday (or are still missing) -- call on the world to urgently stop Israel's war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
* As part of its war on the people of Gaza, Israel ordered 1.1 million civilians from the northern half of Gaza to move south, which would have unthinkable humanitarian consequences. (Al Jazeera rb.gy/f41ce)
* "Israel has not let any goods into Gaza since airstrikes began, describing the intended conditions as a total siege -- a tactic forbidden under international law." (Washington Post rb.gy/050xm)
After Hama's heinous horrors last Saturday, now Israel is seeking revenge against the whole civilian population of Gaza:
* Indiscriminately bombing the entire enclave without regard to civilian casualties, and with the declared intent to cause "damage and destruction." (Telegraph rb.gy/j46j9)
From a dear friend in Israel: An Urgent Plea for Gaza - share if you agree and contact your representatives
"Israel is dropping in less than a week what the U.S. was dropping in Afghanistan in a year, in a much smaller, much more densely populated area." (Washington Post rb.gy/050xm)

Publishing question. Former student, now professor, has an excellent article but having trouble with venue. It analyzes different positions on private prisons using classical political-theoretical traditions (two main republican trad's & foundations to them). What journals should she be looking at?

I wrote about the theoretical framework for an ethics of vibes: itsherfactory.substack.com/p/an-ethics-...
Black background, a few blue and pink lines and lots of white text. The text says the following: PARTICIPANTS NEEDED FOR STUDY ON GENDER IDENTITY AND NOISE MUSIC. Hello! My name is Peter Woods. I'm an education researcher and noise musician. I am about to start a new research project where I explore (a) gender identity development in noise music scenes and (b) the role gender plays in the creative practices of noise musicians. And I need people to talk to! For this part of the project, I am looking for participants who: -Identify as transgender, non-binary, genderfluid, or genderqueer -Have been making noise music/been involved in noise scenes for at least 3 years. Participating in the study will involve completing one 45-minute, online interview. Unfortunately, this project is not funded so I will not be able to compensate you for your time. If you are interested in participating or have any more questions, please contact me at peter.woods@nottingham.ac.uk
Just got ethics approval to start this research project. Looking to interview trans/non-binary/genderqueer/genderfluid noise musicians. If that is you and you want to talk to me for 45 minutes, shoot me an email! Would also love it if people shared this as well!
Finally! A new newsletter post from me, on why Beauvoir's existential phenomenology is the best model for an ethics of vibes, via a reading of Jonathan Sterne's latest book:
