Democratic leaders failed to rise to the occasion and condemn the police brutality on display against protestors expressing their first amendment rights. It more than likely cost them the election. Stop crying about it and learn to win an election.

Respectfully, eat shit. Those kids were expelled, arrested, and targeted relentlessly by their school administrations with the specific goal of preventing further protest. Eighteen year old kids were held down and maced by campus security, hit point blank with tear gas canisters by riot cops.

I'm working my way though Pratchett with my lad.

We've done the first three Tiffany Aching books and Amazing Maurice from Discworld and are on Johnny Maxwell having done the Bromeliad series.

In the meantime I'm on my umpteenth chronological re-read of all the discworld, up to Feet of Clay atm.

Dear Shabana,
I notice today that you referred to me in your speech on immigration at the IPPR think tank.
You said: β€œA party leader should not be on the beaches of France encouraging people to
make a perilous crossing on small boats.”
I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised especially after the hateful Labour campaign in Gorton
and Denton, but this is just the latest in a string of lies peddled by a discredited Government
who intentionally fan the flames of racism and division.
When I went to Calais, I was not there to encourage people to travel to the UK. I was there
to see at first hand the suffering your Government and successive Governments have done
in demonising migrants in a pathetic bid to pander to the base instincts of Reform and the
flawed strategy of Morgan McSweeney.
As you will know, if you even bothered to research my visit instead of taking Reform talking
points, I was there to witness the brutality of families living in tents in freezing temperatures. I
filled water tanks and picked up litter.
What that visit did do is confirm my belief that if we are to smash the boat gangs and stop
the boats, we need to offer safer and managed routes for migrants to come to this country.
Showing compassion as a politician is not a crime. In fact, we need to see much more of it.
It reminded me of a young MP who in October 2015 spent three days in Lesbos helping
migrants fleeing war-torn Syria. She posted videos on X, talked about handing out water and
croissants to refugees and food parcels.
When she returned to the UK, she wrote a very moving piece in the New Statesman. She
said β€œwe have to work with our European partners and create new, safe, and legal routes for
refugees to get to Europe. We cannot abandon them to their fate, left as prey for smugglers
whilst risking death on the seas.”
She said β€œmaybe we can make ourselves feel better by saying no-one is making them get on
the boats. And again, the Home Secretary is not entirely wrong when …

Dear Shabana,

Let's clear some things up around migration and remember we're talking about people's lives.

I do have to be honest here and say that my consistent view of most of America’s wars is not a hope that their enemies win - their chosen enemies often being horrible, very violent people themselves - but to hope that the US loses bigly, to discourage the endless repeats we have seen since the 2000s

so the Β£10k payments to asylum seekers to incentivise them to leave is pretty much a BNP policy from 2010s, the only difference being that the payment is worth a lot less in real terms now

ok so that’s confirmed the UK government are rug pulling my ILR and citizenship from me at the ten year mark. so that’s another 3 years and Β£3-Β£7,000. if you voted for Labour i hope you never sleep again πŸ‘

I am gonna be honest, having all these people suddenly turn around and inform us that Starmer's Labour is unpopular and won by default, and was not in fact a world changing political landslide brought about by political geniuses, makes me want to punch them all in the throat.

There are no rules. There are no consistent principles. You gain nothing by constantly trying to play by rules that don't exist. Your military service, your whiteness, they won't save you if it turns out it's your time to get got.

weird how being a 'life long labour voter' can be both good and salt of the earth and bad and degenerate depending on how racist and from Bolton you are.

A vote for Labour is a vote for Farage. Labour voters need to stop with their endless purity tests and fall in line with the Greens to stop fascism, or they'll forever be remembered as fascist enablers

Gave a speech he hadn't read, sends letters he doesn't read, hires people he believes despite a history of lying. Keir Starmer's entire defence since he got in to power is 'I'm shit at everything, it's not my fault'

Odds massively shortening.

From 18/1 to 5/1 and still 3 years out.

If this one came in it would beat my Fivers on Corbyn to win the Labour leadership and Truss to be next PM (and obviously very good in and of itself)

Greens overtake Labour in sensational poll The Greens have polled higher than Labour in the latest poll by YouGov, which puts them only two points off Reform UK and five ahead of the governing party.

Here we fucking go.
