@lincsbirding.bsky.social caught up with the Snow Goose at Pode Hall today and finally got some decent photos. These are phonescoped. Also colour-marked Bewickβs and Whooper Swan #ukbirding

Todayβs office. After 30 odd years in the NHS I am truly blessed to have found this job in my retirement. I donβt really care what the weather throws at me.
The Lower Derwent Valley White-tailed Eagle showed well yesterday in pretty dismal conditions for photos. #ukbirding
Up to 135 for the year with the White Stork just outside Llansantffraid-ym-Mechain in Montgomeryshire in Mid-Wales #ukbirding
North of Lincoln. Just West of the A15
Thanks Rob
A quick twitch to Market Bosworth Country Park yesterday. A first ever visit for me. At least four Brambling and a great covey of seven Grey Partridge. #ukbirding #vc55birds
A between jobs twitch on Monday for my favourite bird⦠the Great Grey Shrike at Fillingham in Lincolnshire. Stunner! #LincsBirding
Very. Any day with views like that is a good day.
More obscenely good views of birds. This time the Ring-necked Duck at Straws Bridge in Derbyshire #ukbirding with @davidearlgray.bsky.social and @greeny55.bsky.social
Oops! The last shot is the Sibe Chiffchaff. Messed up when uploading photos. #ukbirding
The sun certainly shone at Aust Warth in Gloucestershire this morning. The Penduline Tits were gorgeous.
Obscene views of the Yellow-browed Warbler at Hurley in Warwickshire this afternoon #UKBirding
Some of the 43 Russian White-fronted Geese at Priory Water this morning. @tcartz.bsky.social found the initial 12 yesterday. Merry Christmas everyone.

Marsh Tit from Groby Pool today. Thanks to @greeny55.bsky.social for the tip off. #vc55birds #ukbirding

I have just discovered that I can get my iPhone, that I use as my Alarm clock, to automatically play BBC Sounds and more specifically I can now wake up to the dulcet tones of top birder and former top podcast partner @tommckinney.bsky.social on BBC Radio 3βs Breakfast show.
So easy!
βWell, itβs a long way for a Great Northern Diverβ was @greeny55.bsky.socialβs summary as we dipped the Eastern Black Redstart in Scarborough and the Bridlington v Blyth Spartans game was postponed as we arrived. #ukbirding
Iβm assuming the interesting Wigeon is the very creamy headed bird? Puts me in mind of the βStorm Wigeonβ from N.Wales last year. Well worth searching for.
Isnβt it funny how we get excited by an American Wigeon when our own is definitely a better looker.
Thanks to @leicesterllama.bsky.social for finding the American Wigeon at Eyebrook yesterday. Went today with @greeny55.bsky.social and met @tcartz.bsky.social great views, difficult to photograph through a hedge. #vc55birds #ukbirding
Andy, you ended 25 years of hurt for me and I guess plenty of other (Spurn) birders. Well done!
Appeal: I am looking for high quality photos of female and 1W Greater Scaup for a ID article. Can anyone help? PM me if you can. #ukbirding #vc55birds
Some shots of the female Lesser Scaup at Swithland Reservoir yesterday. One with a Tufted Duck for comparison. #vc55birds #ukbirding
Great shot Andrew.
Where is the count tool and is it on Elements do you know?
Proof lightning does strike twice. @beidaihebirder.bsky.social found the second Dusky Warbler at Aylestone Meadows, 100m from the site of the Christmas Eve 2021 bird. Proved patchworking works. #vc55birds #ukbirding
As waders (shorebirds to my American and Canadian friends) go, Purple Sandpiper has to be my favourite.
All these were phonescoped with an iPhone 15 Pro Max and Kowa 883 scope. #ukbirding #bridlington
More Black Redstart from Hathern yesterday, these taken with the #NikonP950 #vc55birds #ukbirding
I had almost given up on the Black Redstart in Hathern today when I heard a familiar call and there it was on the roof of the Nave. It quickly vanished and was relocated on the West side of the tower and usually around the barred windows. #ukbirding #vc55birds
