Healing asks more of us. It asks us to hold complexity, to sit with discomfort, and to resist the simplicity of blame. It asks us to see the humanity of those who’ve harmed and those who’ve been harmed. Punishment is easy: it ends the story. Healing is hard: it demands we rewrite it collectively.
The felt sense of self is not rebuilt; it is re-welcomed, like a long-lost friend arriving at the door, hesitant but already home. Uncovering that wholeness is the practice. Slow. Tender. Slow.
