Not just tv commercials but although there are some uniting shows, you can no longer expect students to have watched the same thing as you did last night

(Dolly was on loan from @iscycle.bsky.social hence my very specific interest; we've not had a lot of people so enthusiastically adopt a bakfiets, so delighted to read your thread)

We've been trying to source a tent for the Orange longtails (the decathlon longtail has a tent); but they're quite brand specific, and we can't get the one for that brand anymore. Useful feedback re: the door

Longish thread about cycling a cargo bike around Limerick and the bike itself. After trialing a cargo bike Pat and @limerickecargobike.bsky.social - we decided to buy this bike from Decathlon. We have over 1000km done since October. We go every morning - regardless of the weather.

Did you have a similar bike (Dolly?) from Pat, or one of the orange long tails?

Never, ever, write chapters in edited volumes. No one can read them, they are trees that fall in a forest when there is no one around to see it. Do yourself a favor, and post a preprint, or start a blog. It will likely have 1000 time more impact.

I miss being in a department with daily milk delivery; though I guess now I'm so woke I'd want oat milk... I'm clearly part of the problem

Ever since I was a little girl, I knew that I wanted to answer 275 emails per day and argue with administrators. Thatโ€™s why I chose a career in academia.

Evidence for the adept conversation skills of hairdressers

(used to be funny when they would ask me about what I do (PhD era), and I'd reply that I study how people adapt their conversational style to the people they are speaking with)

Out of the Shadows African-American architect Julian Abele is finally getting recognition for his contributions to some of 20th-century America's most prestigious buildings

There was some speculation he never got to visit his buildings, but having read to the end of the article, it seems that he did www.smithsonianmag.com/history/out-...

Artichoke is probably actually a fruit, but although it's a lot of effort, it's worth it. Pomelo seems a solid choice

This February marks 20 years since I worked in a department of psychology. I would say I still mostly define myself as a psychology person, but that's a long time being an out of discipline person where I'm working

Possibly related to UK rule of Ireland, but this seems pretty similar in Ireland, except via gaelic sports, there is a *lot* of pride in county. my university main campus is in two different counties
