The Wexner Center at Ohio State, named for the family of Jeffrey Epstein's top patron Les Wexner, showed a movie set in an NYC prison that "follows the volatile dynamic created when a white pedophile arrives amidst the otherwise black & Puerto Rican inmates" wexarts.org/film-video/s...
Before Citizens United, billionaires donated 0.3% of campaign financing. In the last election, 300 billionaires & their families — 0.0001% of America's population — provided 19%.

The Supreme Court said in the Citizens United decision that it would "not give rise to corruption or the appearance of corruption."

One of the most damnable things about political action is that you rarely know what positive effect you've had on the world. But as bad as things are now in the US, we can bet they'd be much worse without the incredible resistance to ICE by Minnesotans. Everybody else is in their debt.
creative but less creative than all the excuses people came up with to avoid being on his dissertation committee
Most likely outcome is that asshole dies of old age and leaves everyone else to clean up his mess, capping an 80 year run of never experiencing consequences. Only in America baby!
look they are a sneaky people
Yes, David Ben-Gurion said the Zionist movement would settle Palestine exactly as the British did in North America and the Dutch did in South Africa. But what did that dummy know compared to an expert like Adam.
I hope reincarnation is real, just so I can learn about the Great Molasses Flood of 1919 all over again www.youtube.com/watch?v=wKax...

I was thinking about the moral depravity of Scott Simon's 22-year-old review of Fahrenheit 9/11 because of Trump's (false) claim that 100+ Iranian schoolgirls were killed by an Iranian missile. There's something deeply wrong with this country.
Long ago NPR's Scott Simon wrote this about Fahrenheit 9/11. I've always wanted to ask him how he'd feel if Iraq engaged in an unprovoked bombing of the US & his family was massacred by an errant US anti-aircraft missile. Surely he'd blame America for their deaths, to be consistent.
Quick question does anyone know how to restore virtue to a decaying society
I believe the American/Israeli attack on Iran will be good for the Iranian people. Relatedly, I am unaware of anything that has ever happened before in the history of the world.
Women are way underrepresented among both CEOs and serial killers. And in both cases, I believe we should be striving to eliminate the position rather than even up the numbers.
Ideally what happens now is Iran has a genuinely free and fair election, Iranians choose someone Trump hates, and Trump immediately declares that the election was rigged

I am a cannibal with strong moral convictions, so I only eat free range organic humanely-raised people
you will never rise very far in the world with this kind of bad manners
No one in the foreign policy blob ever believed Iraq would attack the US with WMD. But they did have a rational concern, which was an Iraq with WMD could deter the US & Israel from *attacking them* whenever we wanted. As Marco Rubio just explained that's also our worry with Iran:
On the evening of 9/11, Netanyahu mused to the NYT about whether Americans would blame Israel for what happened. (Netanyahu well knew US support motivated al Qaeda.) You have to wonder how concerned he is now.
The NYT didn't print this, tho — the reporter revealed it 10 years later.
you go to war with the angry trump donors you have, not the ones you want

I grew up in the affluent suburbs of Washington, D.C., which made me instinctively hate and fear the people who run America. Decades later, I have to say my instincts were right on the money.
This John Mulaney "horse loose in the hospital" bit about Trump from 2018 was very popular, especially among other comedians, but it made me unhappy then and even more unhappy now. Ah ha ha ha, also the horse just murdered 100+ schoolchildren. www.youtube.com/watch?v=JhkZ...
I love the song "Dr. Worm" by They Might Be Giants because the first line is 🎵 They call me Dr. Worm 🎵 and then over the rest of the song you learn how, despite his yearning for everyone to call him Dr. Worm, no one actually does www.youtube.com/watch?v=bTxX...
