Breaking it into parts helped a lot
in my case
navigation is one script, grabfocus works great here
Cam inversion, full screen, and resolution settings are all separate scripts
However, there will be cases where you'll need to share data between them though
It took me a while because I never had done anything like it, maybe since Flash/ActionScript a long time ago
so I had to learn a lot of new things in the process
plus, I kept procrastinating out of FEAR of opening the project to do it hahah
