Dear my delightful tweeps, some news! So after 30 years of City Hall and urban-issues stories that you all know, I'm doing something completely different — I’ve decided to run for a City Council nomination with @onecityvan.bsky.social and hopefully run on their slate this October.
Returning from Colombo after the Ditwah cyclone, we were notified that check in would be done manually. I found it fascinating that people are thinking about these disasters and doing practice runs. Sure, checking in took longer, but I got home just as planned.
Stuck at the hotel for yet another day, but our situation isn’t as dire as some. Fingers crossed the rain stops today.
We came to Sri Lanka, hoping to lave the Vancouver rain behind. Oops.

A safe, protected bike-lane in downtown Vancouver filled with people riding bikes.
You don’t have to be a “cyclist” to support safe bike infrastructure in your city. You don’t have to ride bikes at all. You just have to understand the FACT that bike infrastructure makes getting around easier & safer for EVERYONE, saves us all public money, & makes cities generally more successful.
Most folks live where the red parts are.

Voted this morning at jw sexsmith school and the process was painful. Seems much more complicated than it should be.
