Not quiiiite the yardage I was hoping for, but it's so pretty I don't mind. Too much. Two-ply 484 yards prebath. "Rascal" on 50/50 Merino/Tencel by @fatcatknits.bsky.social. It's a rainbow gradient that will run from purple to red and back to purple. #handspinning
The fiber is 50/50 merino tencel in "Rascal" from Fat Cat Knits 2/2 @fatcatknits.bsky.social
A gorgeous Majacraft bobbin filled with glorious rainbow two-ply yarn.
The same bobbin filled with more two-ply blue to purple yarn, finishing the rainbow.
Check this beauty! Had to take a pic in all its rainbow-y goodness before filling it on up. And the two bobbins (yeah, that's not chain-plying!) I piled together were spun months apart and STILL came out within two yards of each other. That's like winning the spinning lottery. 1/ #handspinning
Side view of a castle-style spinning wheel with a bobbin of rainbow colors and the drive band off so that this one might last longer
The spare drive band had arrived, but then I was too avoidant to try the re-melty-spliced one until tonight, and - surprise! - it didn't hold, so in less than five minutes I put the new one on and we have spinning! (holy bob was the old one stretched out) I will learn nothing from this #handspinning
I think glazed would be a good strategy for the next four years.
Four long loaf soap molds, one with swirled pinks and greens, another deep brown, and two that are currently off white, but one will deepen to tan and the other to medium brown
I made soap! (And of course there's a funny story about it. I'll try to do a blog post later. And then share said blog post. L to R: Strawberry Guava, Dragon's Blood, Oatmeal, Milk, &Honey, Lavender Vanilla Patchouli.
2/ which I was working on because I couldn't find the third braid of the fiber I actually wanted to spin. Today, I'm making soap.
A multicolor vest loosely knit in seed stitch is over 2/3 done and about to be neglected for soapmaking
Major progress on the vest I'm knitting to get the needle free so that I can knit on the project I started because I couldn't spin because the drive band splice didn't hold (have I tested it since re-melty-splicing it? Of course not, don't be silly) #knit #knitting #handspinning #adhd
4/ So now I'm going to finish the abandoned vest to free the size 11 needle so that I can continue the shoulder warmer while I wait on the replacement band for the Majacraft, and maybe in the meantime find the third braid. I mean, at least I have a plan? #knit #handspinning #adhd
3/ so I continue to look through other doom bags in hopes of finding a) another size 11 needle and b) maybe accidentally find the missing third braid. Did I find either of those things? No. But I did find this:
2/ and tonight, I dove into the loom room (not to be confused with the yarn room in the garage or the yarn room at the farm), and I found a project that I was using a size 11. Yay! But it had been abandoned because I misplaced the rest of the yarn for it.
Saga: so last night while I was letting the melty-splice set, I found a knitting project to do. Huzzah! But, I was eventually going to need a size 11 needle, and there was none in the size 11 zip pouch. I know perfectly well I have plenty of size 11. 1/
Whoops. Spoke too soon. Band is melty-spliced again, and spare band is ordered.
I stopped working on it when the drive band broke and I had to melty-splice it, only I wasn't sure I did a good enough job, and I was afraid it was going to break again. So my solution was to not try it so it wouldn't break. Schrodinger's drive band, if you will.
Good news, everyone! While I still haven't found the third braid to unlock my brain and let me spin on the Hansen, I have braved up and brought out the Majacraft that DOES have something in progress. #handspinning
Couldn't decide what to spin. Knitted hats instead. (Actually, I did decide on something, but inventory and my own brain says I have three braids, only found two, so now brain is in some sort of neurodivergent temper tantrum) #knitting
When you're not chronically indecisive, it is. ๐
So I think to myself, "I'm in a mood to spin; I'll just finish up what's on the Hansen." Nothing! Nothing is on the Hansen! Do you know what this means?! I now have to decide what to spin. #fiberworldproblems #handspinning

Not saying you need to, but bright colors overdye sooooo nice. I overdyed an I'm -never-going-to-knit-that bright yellow with forest blue-green and zowie. Also have not yet knit anything with it. ๐
Whoops, forgot to show the sooper sekret completed knitting project. The ends were not nearly as arduous as my whining suggested.
Sooper sekret project is knitted! Now, the ends. 55 modules plus a border and a few skein changes = oof.
Sooper sekret knitting project is nearing completion
